I am tired of this. What game do you want hosted? It's clear my choices are wrong.

"I have no desire to use scripts or exploits which has became the norm in HL2. I consider it cheating and even considered banning it from our server. Hax can’t be competitive unless we fly around 100 miles an hour or using a hit box hiding invinci-jump and I wont be doing that. I also have no intention to insist that our members learn that crap. Makes you wonder why we are so popular and so called elite servers are dead huh. 85% of the people who play want to have a good time not get walked over by someone they can’t catch. It’s bad enough for them to play against good players let alone whining exploiters who complain about RPG’s, nads, and orbs. Its funny, I mean WTF else can a newbie do but spam those weapons. If I took hax in the direction I wanted to go we would most likely lose half our members, and I think it’s easier to just step down and do as I please."
I To me, hl2 has changed for the worst (in a whole) because a lot of people now play to win, and be the best, instead of why we all started, to have fun.
I think Necro and Turbo hit the nail on the head. I'm with Necro on the "Invinci-jump"(I hate that one the most), and Turbo on the non-team play. I think the "invinci-jump" forces the other players to smg and RPG until the map becomes a rocket and orb fest. I think that was the key to the Tomb's success, the 200 xbow added an alternative to the newer players that could bring down the best hl2 player. I honestly don't see how a new player is going to want to stick around getting killed and then mocked about it. My humble opinion, when I started hl2, pDs was the server where I could have fun and most all of the players were cool and supportive, Hax was the server where I had to hone every aspect of my gameplay to be competative and have some rough fun.

i agree with practice, back when i first joined pds when 1.5/1.6 was the big thing i use to really hate it, until i started playing in the breeding grounds. it was fun, non competitive, yet i could hone my skills there without having to get completely slammed on while doing it.
but i can also see the major problem of hosting servers; shelling out cash, and not seeing players in those servers. the thing is we can pow wow the shit out of "how can we get players into the servers" but in reality we could offer every player who enters and stays an hour 20 bucks, and theres still no gaurentee we can get the server maxed out. gimmicks work great, like the friday penguin partys that we were doing, but then the shine on the new plastic wears out, and it looses it's appeal. the only thing we can really offer is a fun place to game, and hope in the end that player feels like throwing us in their favorites, and in order to do that "we" need to be in the server more, and i know im not in there alot at all. i slack, no excuses.
but i'll come back to gimmicks real quick to agree with the 200 dmg xbow, that was a great mod that i felt brought people in. what brought me in for awhile too was the 1 hit kill stunstick/crowbar that in itself was a great mod and should be brought back. but in the end these are just my two cents. it's really up to what you guys think.

We should venture outside source a bit. Maybe hit some BF2 or B2142, since there is a huge player base. Hell, I wouldn't mind even playing TFC still. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

the thing about the 1 hit stunstick was 90% of the time ppl would just stand infront of spawn doors keeping players from ever leaving In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

you should pwn up the ranks of a tfc server in anticipation of tfc2 . although just like any other game to host we would need the bitches to keep it populated at all times. and about the melee weapons, smg nades work wonders. Nah, don't replace it. Mod it some more. Add the big-boom smg nades, 1-hit stunstick, 1-shot xbow and kablaster L.E.D nades. Right now we're just like every other empty server save for a few clan members who play. It should at least be fun for those who do. And don't be afraid to decrease the time for weapons to respawn. And as for someone standing before the spawn doors, just pop a new and improved smg nade at them. That will stop them real quick. Bring 'em all back and more . . . Please God, let Whut grow a pair and implement these suggestions to break the cobwebs off the Tomb. Or is it Grumpy? Well you know who it is because you see it all. Even when Grumpy and Whut think they're alone and no one is watching when they are touching each other there. You see it, I know, 'cause you're God. Not some gilded goat-statute. Mmmmm . . . golden goat burgers . . . AUGHGHHGAHGAH . . . You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

Sometimes it happens more than once in a day and during other periods it would be more like for hell to freeze over than anything actuallly getting done. I agree, I used to love the super powered nades - good for clearing out those pussies who like to camp with the mag and bow on the upper balcony and lower entry on 2-Fort. 2-Fort is one of those maps that turns into a fucking camping fest which makes the game really suck.
