If you want better than youtube quality, go watch the quicktime trailer on apple's website. I'm doing what the marketing schmucks want me to do, and I've never felt better.

i did a little research so far there isnt even a title for this movie, its supposed to revolve around a monster attack and is told from the point of view from a small group of ppl In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

Cloverfield is the working title. The trailer doesn't dictate that the whole film will be shot home video style, production and filming schedules actually imply that it will probably be a regular feature film, and the people in the trailer will not be in the film. It's not godzilla, paramount doesn't have rights to it, and the roar is definitely not godzilla's, either. Paramount is going for a viral marketing scheme, keeping the film secret means that it will generate a lot of hype, but then there's also going to be a lot of fake websites. Stick to imdb and wikipedia.

Oh yeah, and there's speculation that the monster will be Cthulhu or will be from lovecraft mythos, this however, is completely unfounded. Actually, I shouldn't say it's completely unfounded. The claim is obviously not supported by paramount but the fact that the monster seemingly flings the head of the statue of liberty, on ellis island, implies that the monster is probably approaching the city by sea. This however, might be a paradox, as it seems the first major event is the explosion seen on what appears to be ground level, though this could very well be at sea, on the shore, or somehow inland but caused by a monster approaching from sea. My heart says yes to Cthulhu, but my mind says no.

I predict that this movie sucks. Unless it is Cthulhu and everyone dies. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

Effects look good... acting and lines look/sound shitty. I shall see it though. I can get behind any sort of monter comes and eats city situation... I like the concept of it filmed POV style.

Maybe this movie will rock. Maybe not. Keep in mind that they NEVER, EVER release a movie they think will do well in January. There is a reason all the "big hits" are around the summer time, so we'll see.
