"The 20th Century Fox-based production entity is close to a deal with the Mark Gordon Co. to adapt "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" into a live-action film.
Gordon has been developing the pic, based on the popular 1980s Japanese animated TV series, comicbooks and toy line, with Justin Marks penning the script.
Interest in the property hit a high after "Transformers" turned into a box office juggernaut, raking in nearly $300 million to date."

Tons of old classics are being put to the big screen, not to mention many game adeptations. To date all that I can think off the top of my head are Thundercats, Alvin and the chipmunks, Speed Racer, Dragon Ball Z, Knight Rider (not sure about it yet), Castlevania, Driver, Neon Genesis Evangelion and many more.  ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Voltron is bomb!!!! It's nothing like transformers! Power rangers was actually a rip off of voltron. I remember watching it when i was like 4 still my fav cartoon to date. I have it on dvd and watch it all the time still. anyhow live action won't be bad i just hope they start it off with sven cause not too many ppl remember him and he was my favorite.
