I need a new power supply unit, but I don't know which to get nor what is good/bad. Basically, I have a 7950GT 512MB, 3.2 Pentium D 940 duo core, 500GB HDD, 2GB RAM, and some other shit like a wireless LAN card (which I am going to take out), and a TV-tuner card. My PC is a HP Media Center m7490n and everything is stock except the video card. My PSU is 350W. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

500W is overkill, a quality 350W or 380W would run that system fine. People greatly over exaggerate how much power they need. Check out this siteThis program recently started up and has power supplies with 80 percent or more with their efficiency output. Grab something in the 350-400W range and you'll be fine.

i was thinking of upgrade possibilities, and 500w psu's usually go for about the same price as 350w's

When my 650w PSU went to the shits, I used a very old 300w PSU which has been in the attic for years and my computer worked fine still, but I still brought a 550w PSU anyway.
