I noticed you sporting your fast. Do you own a GTI or are you just a VW enthusiast? I am a VW Zealot. Own a 55 T2, but I'm saving up for one of those Jetta 2.5L. I made this a thread instead of a PM for general VW or car talk, so give it a chance. Not total spam!

I used to be a german car mechanic and there is nothing like a classic 1.8L VW, they are built strong. but the new ones suck expecally the VR6. its a dumb idea using plastic pipes as coolant hoses but ohh well, i guess it drops weight. we've done some awesome things to the vw's and they seemed to hold up. like droping a masive turbo in a new golf gti bumping it up to around 400 hp. but i love the german cars, ive got an old beat up bmw 320i and my girlfriend has a 200 323ci and they are just great handling cars they really think about a lot of things when they vuild them.

Ha. just wait till the TSI motors come around your parts... or have you seen a Golf spouting 170 HP out of a 1.4 Liter block.... and thats the small engine without any tuning done to it.
Who wants a motor with only a Turbo or only a Compressor... when you can cram both into one small engine at the same time.
