Is it possible for people playing Team Fortress 2 on PS3 to play against people playing it on PC?

Nope. I own a PS3 (Strictly for Metal Gear Solid) and the servers used are not dedicated boxes that we can buy in the PC world. They use servers provided by EA I believe (who handled the Port) so therefore no cross-platform play. The only game I can think of which does this is Final Fantasy XI online. 'Sides, who wants to play a shooter with a controller.....

COD4 plays on the 360, PS3, and PC but will only cross platform with the PS3 and the PC due to the SONY network being so much larger than the 360's.  That and Microsoft didn't like the idea of their system playing along with Sony's for free so they removed the option to cross platform their game.  However, if you are in the mood to get owned and have a PS3 then go play against the cross platforms, I find its quite hilarious how everyone on the PS3 accuses the PC gamers of cheating all the time, its just easier to score head shots with a mouse and keyboard than with a controller, who knew.

The sad part about the 360 version is the players online are mostly idiots, from what I've seen.  Everyone wants to be spies, but they can't figure out how to use them and they don't watch the videos either, so they have no idea how to work the maps.  /sadness
