This is for both admins and players. SourceTV is a good admin tool, but so are more player slots. We can run a 33 player server apparently, 32 public slots, one reserved slot. I tried running a 34 player one so sourcetv could have a slot as well... client error. So, you guys decide. Keep sourcetv and limit public slots to 30 or remove sourcetv and bump slots to 32.

Just remember going to 32 player servers would boost our placement in steam when people filter by server sizes. This in turn would make busier servers.
What is more important...
Having 3 or 4 full servers every night?
or having source tv?

You are assuming people sort by that. I know when I sort (have not in a long time since finding this place) it was by ping and how full. I never considered size. On topic, I like the sourcetv idea, but never saw how to connect to it until somebody sent me the ip:port How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

12/32 does not sort higher than 23/24 or 11/12 It is percent of fullness without being full, which I filter out full and emptys. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

This poll isn't about the scrim servers. It's about the public servers. The scrim server would keep sourcetv.

I thought about it tonight and played to see what I like better.
SourceTV seems to add a bit of confusion to some who join the server and get stuck on it. Apparently, you can't just switch teams to be on a team after being on SourceTV; you have to disconnect and come back. This is bad because you might lose your spot to someone else in the time it takes to reconnect.
Also, it doesn't seem to help stop anyone from doing bad things. I just go spectator, and it doesn't matter. They're arrogant little shits and don't care who is watching or if they get banned. As one banned person said "LOL there are like 1800 servers! You think if I give a fuck about being banned on one?"
So, in conclusion, I'd rather have the slot so one more person can play, which keeps people coming here, and helps keep the server populated so people will want to come here.

Exactally. Also, As Source TV shows up a 1 player in the server, people join expecting there to be somebody to play against, but instead, there isnt, so people think no point in comming back here, meaning if there was a player there waiting for people to join, people who saw the Source TV, are just going to think that it is just that still

I agree about getting rid of it. It's cool for scrims and all, but on the publics I don't think it has any benefit. I haven't seen or heard of a situation yet where it has helped bust a troublemaker, as far as I am aware no one really uses it. I am also one of those people who always sorts by size and chooses the biggest game possible. It's how I found pds all those years ago, the crypt was 32 players and thus I chose it when I first tried hl2dm and never looked back. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
