Maps played:

ctf_convoy
tf2_school
cp_desertfortress
cp_grandcanyon
cp_powerplant
cp_shock
cp_vertigo
ctf_quarry
ctf_steamroll

For starters, School crashes the server... so that's not good.

I think Vertigo just doesn't work.

Thanks to all who showed up...

We had it full of wdfers the entire time!

They just had me switch to Sidewinder

So add Sidewinder to the list of maps tested and leave feedback.

My favourites: steamroll, desert fortress, grand canyon. I like the others but i dont remember all. Like Chris said quarry is a bit annoying with cars (i use to strafe a bit to check if car is coming and boum pwned).

Had a great time...

Of the set:

ctf_convoy -  Enjoyed this, think it brings something a little different to the scene.    Starts out sniperish but as you play more you see more relevance for the various roles.
tf2_school - Enjoyed it and hoping Murdy can keep it from crashing the server.   Big fan of his maps.
cp_desertfortress - Very nice.   Think this one is a keep
cp_grandcanyon - if i remember correctly this is the one with high fly bridge over the canyon.   putting an SG up there really  locks up that avenue but there are alternate routes and folks were learning the map.
cp_powerplant -- ok; memory fails me here.
cp_shock -- ok ; memory fails me here as well.
cp_vertigo -- Classic CTS map.   If there are plenty on and offense is organized it's a good map.   Defense definitely has the advantage here.
ctf_quarry -- Meh.
ctf_steamroll - really fun.    Wolud like to see this part of a session but keep the time limit low.   Playing this for 30 minutes at a time would get old quickly.

I've played both nights and I'm very impressed with some of the quality that we've seen.     I know many folks get tired of the same ol' maps from Valve and these new maps really add life to the game.

convoy is fun, maybe a bit chaotic with a full server, but worth a try, whatever the really big one is called, hell no, and the one with the carts gets boring fast

it's ok. all computer components have clearly dotted lines along which you can cut* to make smaller.

I loved steamroll just because you get creamed by the train at the end.
Desert castle was fun as well.
Convoy was awesome, but I think people will have problems running it since not all players have a computer as good or better than mine.

None of the others really stand out, except for quarry.  I think the carts are a good idea since those passages can be locked with just one sg.
It also keeps the heavy/med combo from running through the tunnels all willy nilly like.

You are right i had a bit of lag (but still could play) and i have p4 2.4 ghz 1gb ram with radeon 9800 256mb. I have more lag in the huge map with sand and red houses (grand canyon?).

p.s. make small maps for christina he has a sux0r computer xD

Oh... pentium... we understand now.

Still, if you dropped in another 512 stick of memory and went to a 256 card at least, you'd rock.
