I keep getting connected to source tv when the tempest servers are full and having team fortress auto-join when a slot is free.  Source TV is not the same thing as playing and I would like to know if there is a way to disable this feature on the client? All I have seen is stuff on disabling source tv on the server. Since you connect to something, auto-retry is no longer retrying. PS. if its a long wait I can play elsewhere and set the auto-join and it will disconnect the current game and join the server when the slot is free.  It appears to be auto-joining for a period of time ~5 minutes, and then presto Source TV.

Thanks

When you open up the server info look at the info closely. Ive had it happen a few times where I double click on 1 server and end up getting SourceTV server instead. If this happens try to connect through console. Type in connect "IP" just type in the IP for w/e server your trying to get into.

I've never seen this happen.

SourceTV is on a different IP. Are you sure you aren't connecting to it by mistake?

It does happen.

It's happened to me. It's happened to others. Check the poll post for doing away with Source TV.

It does happen, and I also saw it working in reverse during the tourney.  I connected to Tempest 4 twice during the tourney, when connect specifically to Source TV connection.
The only time I get connected to Source TV instead of waiting in queue for a slot on the server, is when it is full.  But the queue wait go from 10~15min, to I'm looking to play somewhere else.

Also during the tourney, I had to connect to source tv with the console.  If I used the spectator list, I would get a strange pop saying something like Bad Password. But never prompted for a password.  Strange because the spectator list show the connection as not being password protected, like the actual server was. I just cut and pasted the ip/port from spectator list properties into the console and connected manually. I do not know if this helps, but thought I would share.

Thanks.

A little tip to avoid losing time: when the server is full and you join with auto retry, you know that you login on sourcetv when the loading bar is small and has no text. You can cancel and rejoin the server.
