PC is fucking up YET AGAIN. I don't know wtf it is this time. Ive been working on it since friday. Internet is taking the shits since EVERYTHING I play lags like a monkey with down syndrome. Also my sound dies within 3 minutes of starting up my comp. Which for the moment it seems the fix i got worked. Starting up my PC is the most fucked up thing you've ever herd of. I HAVE to have my OS disc in the dvd-rom or else my PC keeps restarting on its own again just like the last time. With the disc in I can choose 1 of the ridiculous 3 OS i ended up installing.  ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Sounds like registry all jacked try a registry fix.
Maybe MB drivers?
Anyone else have thoughts?
Sounds kinda cronic when OS shits all over.

Hey sounds like that same problem that STEAM does, especially if you like install it on .. say... D: drive and then reinstall it on C: drive, or install it on one drive, the physically move that drive from slave to master or change the boot order. I think it's HAX.DLL file? Personally I don't really know wtf is up. Ive researched every possible angle and the only thing I can think of that would fix this fuck up yet again, is to wipe the drive clean and start ALL OVER again for the fucking 5th time in 3 or so years. Yeah but STEAM might be the cause. It's been the cause before.
It messes up that system32 file, I think it's called HAX.DLL or something.

Sounds so damn familiar. If all else fails, reinstalling the OS could be the fix. Just don't use the windows system restore. Offten enough, it causes more problems than it fixes. When drunk and can't aim for your life, trust the crowbar.  OMG LOOK AT THE AWESOME HL PROGRESS!

I can guarantee you its not steam, its been in my D drive well over 6 years and not a single file has been moved. Ive had this shit happen before. Its got something to do with a keylogger/trojan that ive had my system infected, POS ISP gives me shit anti-virus telling me its the shits.... well yeah I agree there 100%. POS doesn't pick it up when I got it and it doesn't get rid of it unless I scan for the mofo. After scanning my PC for like 4 times which took well over 2 or so hours total it still finds something that it told me it got rid of before on the last scan. Rollback fails as well which I get some fucked up MSG about some file that I don't even know where it is. Demori wrote:Sounds so damn familiar.

Offten enough, it causes more problems than it fixes. reinstalling the OS is what I did twice, booting up is where it fucks up, I have to have my OS disc in my pc or I can't choose the correct OS ive installed of the 3. If I take the disc out It only gives me either 1 OS to pick from or it tells me windows didn't start up properly and gives me the safe mode startup list. Good god, what the hell happened to your comp? Hate to say this, its mundane and it might not help much, but have you tried reseting your BIOs? (IE take the battery out, wait a bit, and put it back in.) When drunk and can't aim for your life, trust the crowbar. OMG LOOK AT THE AWESOME HL PROGRESS!

Buy a new HDD, move your important data to it and then format your original HDD and fucking reinstall your OS. If you need the OS disk in the drive to boot up then your OS is fucked and should be nuked. Or if you want to live a little dangerously, you could try just doing an XP repair. I don't know if XP Home version can do it but it basically reinstalls your OS in place. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

seriously, if your that messed up you need to format. it might seem excessive, but i reformat about once a year. it keeps things clean and in working order. it also gets rid of things that i don't need anymore and don't know that i still have in my machine that can cause issues down the line. it really only takes a few hours and from the sound of it, you have spent more then a few hours trying to solve a problem that can really only be fixed with a format and a clean reload.

Turns out this SOB problem was the modem itself all along. Internets now faster and doesn't lag at all ingame anymore. Although I switched the modems with my mom's bf's computer, I can expect to be called to fix a problem that I caused but wtf at least I don't lag spike anymore. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions
