Ok,I came home to my computer which had rebooted itself and now had the error: Missing Boot Drive. I said "Oh snaps" to myself and grabbed me trusty bootlegged XP cd.

I plop the CD in and reboot just like ive done many time before.
I goes through the first part of the installation, like partitioning and formatting and junk.
I format my Primary Harddrive and start copying the setup files and junk. It then says its done and it will reboot to finish setup. But after that it just goes back to the first installation screen.

I don't know if its the disc, or the HD, I dont really have the parts to start swapping em out.

Nate, Take the CD out of the CD Drive before it reboots.

You obviously have access to a working rig.  Do you have the ability/permission to download and burn a CD?
You should be more like Cantrip.

Ya.  I did that.  Forgot it was in there.  You only make that mistake once, because if you admit it on the forums, you will nubishly razzed.
You should be more like Cantrip.

Have you tried changeing the boot order to boot the Hard Drive first?

Yeah I was lolling at nate, not you. Your advice was spot on, and continues to be. The most likely problem is that the first boot priority is the CD drive. Change it to the HDD.

Negative.

If the cd drive lacks a boot option it moves to the next in line, being the hdd.

O RLY? Happened to me last summer when I built my computer. You can have more than one boot priority but it's possible to have only one. When all it knows is to look for the cd drive and nothing's there, it just stalls. That's why the situation is funny to me.

I'll try that, but it just fails to boot with no CD in the drive. I'll get back to you all tonight after i change the boot order.
Im wondering if the CD is shitty.

And Cantrip, im sure i could use my brother computer to download/burn shits.

If you don't resolve the problem, I'll suggest a Linux live CD to boot off of to make sure it's not your hardware.  Won't alter anything on your system when you're done.
You should be more like Cantrip.
