Name yours! I don't care if it's a guilty pleasure or your "cool guy" music that you tell all your cool friends you like to be cool like them.
Mine:
Collective Soul

I've grown up with this band and they are my favorite. I don't know many people that still keep up with them (amongst the handful that know who they are), but their first hit was "Shine". I still think this band is producing excellent stuff, and it's neat to hear how they've changed their sound a little in each album and still pull-out good stuff.
Travis

I just got into this band within the past 6 months and I like their style a lot. They're from the United Kingdom and have both a alternative rock sound and a mellow artistic sound that is similar to Coldplay (although Travis has been around longer, Coldplay listed these guys are influences).
Rage Against The Machine

This is another band I've come to like more over time. My favorite albums are The Battle of Los Angeles and Renegades, although some people tend to like others. I think Zack de la Rocha was such a huge part of the band that Audioslave just seems a bit awkward for me to listen to.
The Goo Goo Dolls

"lol you're such a fag". Yeah, I know. I like this band though. I think there is more to them than their few hits they had back in the 90's. Johnny Rzeznik doesn't know how to play a guitar in standard tuning, oddly enough. Just about every single song they have is tuned to a different key with the guitar. I especially like their older stuff that their hits seem to overshadow a bit.
Journey

lol. What can I say, I like 80's music. I could namely put more bands from the 80's up here, but I'll just stick to one of my favorites. If you've never seen Seperate Ways music video, there is freaking air-keyboarding. Dude, how can you not like air-keyboarding?
The Smashing Pumpkins

Thsi band I got to know and like through my brother, who lived to listen to them. They recently released a reunion album, but I like their older material (not their beginning stuff though) much better. Anyone who listens to this band knows that Zeitgeist is more like their album Gish. I like Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
Foo Fighters

One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Dave Grohl took his guitar and ran through the Auditorium while a camera followed him. He would stop and play for people in the corridors. Epic. Anyway, I like this band because they're a nice "in between" of the main type of rock music I like. They have songs that are the fast-paced rock type, and some that are kind of like ballads/acoustic, like Walking After You.
Amethystium

This is an electronica/new age group that has some of the most relaxing music you will ever hear. They don't really have vocals in their songs (there are a couple with some), but this is the ultimate sleep, study, concentration music.
There are many more, but I'll stop here. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

umm... i find threads like these really hard to do i listen to some country blues, Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, Son House and similar. Old school rock in the likes of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher among others. Jazz, i love Coltrane, and Monk as well as a whole load of other shit. some more modern shit like Massive Attack, Daft Punk, Battles... ummm... weird avant garde shit like Hiromi Uehara (more jazz i suppose). and... lots lots more that i can't remember right now... found a decent welsh singer today, she goes by "Duffy", very similar to Dusty Springfield, that's today's listening i guess.... yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

I like a lot of music that pushes the extremes between what music and pain. Venetian Snares, Champion Burns, X5R. But also, there's music that does things nobody else can: Mogwai, Shpongle, Godspeed You! Black Emperor. And then, there's music you listen to so that you can say you still listen to it: Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Vengaboys. And embarassingly common music that nobody knew had an artist behind it: Cal Tjader, Cal Tjader, Cal Tjader. I'm not cool enough to farm pics. Google will assist you shortly. Safety + Peace

EDIT: No matter what I do, only one of my pictures is showing up... which sucks, because I put effort into this. I think we're really going to understand everyones personalities a little better from this list. And I know who Collective Soul is. Mine: What can I say. This is probably the most influential artist in my life. Well... used to be. Since disbanding the group after the Fragility tour I lost interest. I hated the new lineup and am glad they disbanded again. I started listening to NIN in 1991. My dad bought me Pretty Hate Machine and my mom was none-to-happy about it. NIN albums have been retained a permanent residence in my CD player for over a decade. If you don't know what NIN sounds like... then you're stupid. KMFDM/MDFMK. Began listening to them after the Mortal Kombat soundtrack in 1995. Releasing sixteen full length albums to date with collaborations from the likes of Skinny Puppy and Nine inch Nails. The bands roster has been constantly rotating since the late 80s aside from it's frontman. The current lineup seems pretty solid, but I feel the music has suffered since Lucia joined KMFDM (Though I enjoyed MDFMK). KMFDM is considered one of the founding fathers of industrial rock. Also... Lucia makes me wet.: Lucia. Celldweller/Subkulture. Discovered this band accidentally playing flash flash revolution. Like NIN, Celldweller is Klayton Scott who does most of the recordings himself. He is scheduled to release his sophomore effort later this year. Subkulture is a side projevt produced by Klayton. It consists of Kem, his live bassist. The first single was released a little while ago called Erasus. I enjoyed it much. Noteable mentions: Atlas Plug, which is signed to Klayton's label FIXT, as well as LVL, who is Klaytons brother. Celldweller fuses the raw energy of live guitars and drums with aggressive electronic beats and synths. Fun Fact: Every single song on Celldweller's initial release were licensed out to movies and video games. This included a track that was not on the album which was recorded with Styles of Beyond for the Need For Speed Most Wanted soundtrack. Andy Hunter. Christian DJ... which initially turned me off, as I'm fairly against that sort of thing. However, Hunter manages to release music that, while religious in themed, can easily be listened to by both christians and non-christians alike. Electronica. Everyone knows The Crystal Method. Not much to say about this. I'm a big fan. I've only seen their DJ sets, never their live sets... which is disappointing, as the footage I've seen looked and sounded awesome. I need a live DVD or something. Daft Punk. Normally I hate French people. I've made an exception here. One of the most visually awesome live shows. Depeche Mode. My dad introduced me to this band when I was three. I've been listening to it ever since. Laugh it up. I'm a big fan. Gravity Kills. Another find off of the Mortal Kombat soundtrack in '95. They broke up before I was old enough to get to see them live... which is tragic as I hear their live shows are amazing. They get together about once a year or so and do a live show... in like Ohio or some shit. I can't afford to go. Industrial. Mindless Self Indulgence. I don't really know where to begin with these guys. Considered "Acid Punk"... might be one of the weirdest, most energetic, bizarre, and hilarious shows I've ever seen. I try to see them every time they come to town. Pig. Industrial. Collaborated with KMFDM in their earlier years and part of their reforming. Yep Paul Van Dyk. You electronic fans can call me whatever you want for liking him. Oh well. I do. I'm also a Paul Oakenfold fan, and we know what a hack he is. Yep, you all know Prodigy. Yep, you all know Rammstein. Skinny Puppy. Helped form the industrial movement. They split up and did some side project stuff after their third member died... but got back together recently and released two great albums. The greater wrong of the right is actually my favorite puppy album. /me puts on flame helmet. Tim Skold. Former KMFDM/MDFMK and Marilyn Manson musician. Has one solo album out. After leaving Manson, I'm eager to see where he goes from there. Tool. Everyone knows Tool. Stabbing Westward. The gay mans Nine inch Nails. I'm still a fan. Too bad they broke up. And finally: Utah Saints. Only two albums. Three more lost in record label bullshit. I'm a huge fan. New album coming soon! These are the top ones off of the top of my head. The ones I listen to most, I suppose. There are a ton of artists I enjoy a few songs from her and there, but these are all artists I can enjoy full albums from. Looking at my hard drive, I have 5000+ songs... but these were the top bands off the top of my head that have left lasting impressions on me. (Short of Andy Hunter... he's just OK).

Everyone says I look like Steve Perry. The 80's were awesome for music. So many concerts all the time! I remember taking a road trip to salem to see Accept play with Saxon and Heavy Pettin. A week later, seeing Judas Priest and Great White. Then two nights later, saw the Scorpions. Yup. Was fun times. If you support John McCain and/or George W. Bush, please click here.“I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You're right, we did it. We're very sorry. But thanks to you, we won't do it again.” - Ben Bernanke

Hey Whut? did ya think about NIN newest "Year Zero"? I just listened to it for the first time and like it more than some of the recent like "With Teeth".
by the way, When I tried to quote your post, all your missing pictures popped up with the quote. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

Hmm... When with teeth released I really liked it... but grew tired of it quickly. Year Zero, in my opinion, is a much better album... but either way it's not that strong. For regular play I usually stick to everything Fragile and prior... with maybe a single here or there from WT and YZ. Edit:Images fixed. I am a stupid.
