There were a bunch of you that posted in the religion debacle from a couple weeks ago, and I'm placing this square on your shoulders. Lutherans, Christians, Evagelists, I don't fucking care, you all believe in God, right? Well looks like that if deity power were based on subscription numbers, you, Jesus, and God would be SoL. And disregarding that, looks like there's a confirmed ONE-FIFTH of the worlds population that, because of their religious beliefs, are guaranteed an all-expenses-paid vacation to Hell.

You could argue that they are lumping All islamic denominations into one religion. There are alot of muslim factions, "denominations" within Islam. many that have different interpretations and teachings. It would be like saying (just making up a number here) that Protestants outnumber Catholics in America by 10%. That's true if you dont break out protestants into Southern Baptists, episcopals, lutherans, etc etc....
I would guess that Catholics are still on top in terms of a single religion, being that you can attend a catholic mass in just about every country and know exactly waht is going on and when, even if you dont understant the language.
If they get to throw in just any muslim group into "Islam" ...Catholics should get to throw in Eastern orthadox churches since they are almost the same religion....same with Anglicans (even though they are technically protestants...they are basically catholics who don't recognise the pope as the head of their church...thanks to good ole henry the eighth)
As far a shinto, or somthing practiced in china...I have no idea...

China is mostly atheist on account of the communism. I think it's around 20% Buddhist and there's also Taoism, Confucianism, and the traditional ancestor worship, but those make up a small fraction. Shinto is a Japanese religion. As far as Islam goes, I fail to care seeing as I am not a xenophobic asshole like the majority of americans. Even if I was, I wouldn't care since Islam doesn't have a foothold anywhere except for the middle east, southeast asia, and Spain and Germany.
