Looks like a photo stretched very very well over a basic, but well fitted model. The fact that you can't rotate around and see from behind, or even a profile makes me think its not quite as phenominal as you think. Her hair and skin are not being rendered separate. The eyes are obviously...
It's not any breakthrough Synthesbian deal here....she isn't going to wrinkle her nose or furrow her brow....i doubt the skeleton model even has a nose...its just an illusion created by the photo skin.

Only so much you can do within a Flash swf, too. I'm sure any serious endeavors like this have more complex engines. Still, I wouldn't mind some bewbs.

i've seen that original image. Some singaporean guy made an image of a South Korean actress, it is actually a 3D rendering and not an image. even though it's only an image it is ridiculously more effective than the flash. found out about it from a classmate who was researching the whole uncanny valley thing. Some of the stuff out there is amazing. edit: it seems the image i'm on about is slightly different, dunno if it's the same person, i'm one of those ignorant fuckers who thinks all Asians look the same. style seems quite similar, i wouldn't be surprised if it was the same guy who made em. yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.
