A few asked what I ment by my broken gaming board...here it is. Had to order a new one.
Its excellent for First Person Shooters. Easy access to all the keys. Movement keys are angeled sligtly inward. Played with this particular type for so long I cant stand a regular keyboard.
As you can see the keypads are interchangable for when you have work to do.
Seen them on Ebay for 12 bucks but regular retail is about 49.99. Reviews for the product go either way. People either hate it or love it.
Here's the link to the site.

Here is some pics for those too lazy to click.
You are able to macro keys. So instead of clicking 4 then 1 for building an sg you can set it for just 1 key that will give both commands. Same goes for any menu sequence for other games as well.

Product not compatible with 5 year old and glass of water.

Until you're like me and you don't use the default controls in FPS'. Then they kinda suck. =P Not sure why but I've always been partial to mapping more-or-less like this: A = Back S = Strafe Left D = Strafe Right F = Forward V = Duck C = Prone Spacebar = Jump T = Use G = Pick-up / Toggle melee W / E / R = Misc. (grenades, special skills, etc.)

I'm an old schooler as well..
asdw
Although the layout Rikaelus mentions sounds more 'hand friendly', I'm not sure I would be able to change at this point in time.. too set in my ways.

I'm really funky: zxc with forward as the right mouse button. shift is typically crouch, space is always jump. asd are whatever is most handy, throw nades, quick switch weapons, that sort of thing. f is usually reload, sometime its use item or whatever depending on the game. g is in-game voice, t is all talk, y is team talk. Not really my thing. Even though I have a second generation G15 I dont even use the macros for any FPS. I dont use any scripts for detonating stickies or switching weapons either. Eveything is old school hand speed. So while Im sure Wars keyboard will be useful to some, I find it excessive. *Being left handed also probably helps on a traditional WASD keyboard. I'm the leetest one here

I was thinking about buying one of those keyboards when i built my new gaming system, but none of the stores in the area had one on display, so I just went with a standard layout. quote=Mystique]

[/quote] Actually "old school shooter" was keyboard, then the first people i remember using a mouse for quake, we all used the arrow keys. It wasnt until around half-life and quake 2 everyone got wise to the wasd.

Pyros. They shout and curse. Stabbing wildly. More brawlers than warriors. They make a wondrous mess of things. Brave amateurs.

I see, that looks pretty nifty! So now your fingers are so used to huge movement keys that you hit random keys by accident? LOL now you know how it feels like to have fat fingers and hit several keys at once...
I got myself one of those ergonomic keyboards that split in the middle, and incline both ways like /\. It takes getting used to but it's easier on the hands, especially for someone who plays as much as me...rofl

Actually, I started with the asdw configuration when Hexen and Doom originally came out.. that's when I got into (read: addicted to) gaming. Used CTRL key for firing weapon.. LOL... seems like only yesterday!

I have a similar keyboard and love it. Mine is just basically a regular keyboard with the usual WASD etc. buttons tacked onto the side again in a more comfortable layout. I like it but the only have I have trouble playing without it is BF2.

I use the arrows and all the keys around it. Far easier to keep me from hitting something I did not intend. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
