I have a computer that is running windows xp media center edition, and i wanted a vista theme. I have tried windowblinds and things like that, but they never really work out.
So i download visual style files and place those in with the standard themes in C:/Windows/Resources/Themes.
I then have to apply a "UXTheme Multi-Patcher" in order for windows to recognize the custom themes. When I try to patch, an error says "UXThme Multi-Patcher has detected that there's any any Windows NT setup file in c:\windows\i386....It's not reccomended you continue with this. Please eject your Windows NT cd or move that folder to soemwhere else"
Has anyone dealt with something like this?

I haven't dealt with this, but it honestly seems to me you're playing with fire here. On top of that, vista themes look hella nice, but there's a reason you need a mountain of RAM sticks just to run anything on top... I just don't see how XP could cut it. ive used the UXTheme patcher, and it works great. however, ive never gotten an error like yours. if that error is verbatim, then i'd say youve got a fucked copy of UXTheme. but on the flip side, many places say that one should jsut ignore the popups and press on. either way, send me a PM with your email, and i'll send you the copy of the patcher that i have, and have used on multiple machines. thanks for your help, I just redownloaded the theme patcher and it worked like a charm. I appreciate the replies.
