Withdrawals!! My modem took a lighting hit Friday nite and I've been without internet access for 2 days!!! They're sending me a new one. Just when I'd gotten everyone out of the house for the weekend and was settling in to have some serious Frag time.. storms roll in.. I shut it all down, went and watched TV till it passed.. was a pretty intense storm.. went back in, and no internet connection... *sigh*....
Anyhow getting a new one today sometime, and hope to be back soon.. taking next week off.. hope to see you all soon!!

Well they told me there was an 'in-line' surge protector already present.. my bad, I didn't check. There is a little filter lookin thing attached to the phone jack before the modem line plugs in, but like I said, it looks like a filter rather than a surge protector.. I had one in place already for my COMPs...
soooo.. thanks for the comiseration guys..

if the phone line blew it up and not the electrical outlet you should have your phone service checked. It may not be grounded properly. There's no condom on the face of the earth that can hold back Don Sharp's lightning. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

Thanks Oh wise and mighty SharpOne!!!.... It was the phone line, not the electrical outlet... I'll have them check it out for grounding. Since we have LOTS of lightening storms this time of year, it might happen again.....
