Well, since it seems many folks are waiting patiently for the impending launch of the new WDFNews servers, now might be as good a time as any to quasi-officially discuss the future of the new TF2 Tempest servers. With six total servers all under full Administration control, it's an exciting time to be part of the community! So without further ado, what would be YOUR picks for the config/mapcycle of all the new servers? I'll start: - Tempest #1: Official Valve Maps Only (with or without the "official" user-created maps)
- Tempest #2: 24/7 2fort (like it or not, it's a mainstay so let's not rock the boat)
- Tempest #3: Custom Maps Only (okay, maybe with one or two official maps, but not much)
- Tempest #4: Control Point Maps Only (seems to do well enough, though I have my doubts)
- Tempest #5: 24/7 Rotating Map (it could be weekly, monthly... 24/7 warpath one week, 24/7 dustbowl another, etc.)
- Tempest #6: Experimental (new custom maps, wacky mods and gameplay)

Endyss, your setup looks fine to me, with the exception of a CP only server. That seems a little weird as far as the map lineup. Basically we're not playing ctf_2fort or ctf_well.
24/7 goldrush seemed like it worked pretty well for the time it was up, I'd say give that a try instead.
Really whatever will keep the server(s) full is good with me.
The only problem will be actually getting tese servers full.

We were playing on #4 last night, Goldrush, or one of those little pushcart maps. Server was full. Then we switched to Avanti and we lost about a quarter to almost a half of the group. After two rounds the server cleared like a flash-mob disbanding and then it was just me, holding my limp wrench. I cried. You should be more like Cantrip.  Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." I know most of you don't care overmuch for 2Fort, but what if we had 2 24/7 2Fort servers running.. I imagine they would both probably be full most of the time.. nearly all the 2Fort servers are across the board....
Just a thought ,if there is concern about keeping servers full....

I know I'm going to get hateflame for the suggestion, but if we have room, perhaps an achievement box server? HAX seems to have one that has folks in it often. We could use it to lure in folks and then advertise the other Tempest servers. If there's no extra room, fugetaboutit. And I miss the random "There will be cake" and "The cake is a lie" pop-up text that used to show in chat text. I'm not imagining that we used to have this am I? You should be more like Cantrip. a Gimic server is what i been saying for a long time , Force random spawn . , All team one class only , melee only , Blah blah ..something for fun and to mess around in I been in a all one random class and man it was fun We got snipers vs spys and it was funny seeing like 30 snipers walking around . half spys trying to kill them lol it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek.
