I went to check my mail today, and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a 40" widescreen upgrade to my gaming monitor. Finding little enemy heads to pick off has never been more enjoyable! That is all. (Sorry, I'm just excited) HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Oh damn that is a good setup I mean I would never spend 1,500 on a 40 inch monitor (does it even need to be that big? come on) but then again I don't really have disposable income. I like the desk though.

I see a Diamond Razor mouse and a keyboard with a text screen. What's that for? And damn, that monitor is as big as my TV. Nice. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." Too big. You'll have to move your entire head to see from edge to edge.

Cantrip wrote:I see a Diamond Razor mouse and a keyboard with a text screen. What's that for? Actually, it's a Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse, fairly new revival of the Sidewinder brand... And the keyboard is a Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard... The screen has some minor uses, in WoW it'll show your character's stats and there is a TF2 mod to show lots of stuff about whatever class you're playing. For me the best parts of that are the clock and control of an mp3 player. The main reason I like it though is the 18 extra G-keys on the left side, which you can configure to any sort of keystroke or macro of things. Someday I'll get a rocket jump and other scripts on there, but right now in TF I bind it to change spy disguises or bring out engineering things like sentries and dispensers with one key. (Edit: Wow, looks like Logitech decided to screw the consumer with the G15, which is now missing from their website. In its place are the "G15 Keyboard" which has the screen but 6 G-buttons, and the G11 Gaming Keyboard, which has the 18 G-Buttons, but no screen. Way to go guys.) I have the G15 as well and can't for the life of me figure out how to assign mouse clicks to the macros. Do you have to assign the primary fire button to something other than the mouse? If so, how do you shoot normally?

In the Macro Manager, you should be able to edit a macro once it's been created. Right-click in the "Keystroke" area and there's an option for "Insert Mouse Event". In that you can choose everything from the left, middle, and right buttons as well as mousewheel. HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Its a before and after photo of Endyss's natural male "monitor" enchancement.
On the left...before the pills...
On the right...after...you too can see results like this in just 1 week of use*
*results may vary and/or your junk may fall off!

I used to play on my TV that had an SVGA plug back in the HL2DM days. Yeah, it certainly made a difference with the xbow to be able to pick out a single pixel of somebody's toe sticking out from behind a battlement wall. BOOM! TOE-SHOT! Good times, good times. I played with it briefly on #2 last night and DAMN, it's awesome, with the game taking up your entire field of view (I'm sitting like 2ft from it), but definitely needs some getting used to in the fast paced moments. I've never been one for motion sickness and I was almost a little disoriented by it all! HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Dang. My eyes start hurting after staring at my 17" monitor for a couple hours with the brightness at 20/100, and I sit nearly 3 feet away from it. The SMPTE recommends that you sit nearly 6 feet away minimum from something that mammoth. Looks like a great setup, though. Thanks for the tip about the G15. I have one, too, and I never knew you could add mouse clicks, so I've basically just used it for the sexy clock and backlit keys.

He can set up a recliner or couch farther away and play games with a wireless keyboard and mouse. That's what my friend did, only its a lot harder to play if you don't have an elevated surface to put the keyboard and mouse on. We only played like that for an hour or so and went back to the 22 inch, leaving the bigger one for the xbox :/
