The Tempest are about the only TF2 servers I play on nowadays, and I'd like to become a member to have a better connection with the clan. I'm all for the fun loving clan/gamestyle, which is one of the reasons I quit CS:S. (Speaking of which, please don't turn on sv_pure!! :) ) I've been playing on The Tempest for almost the entire time I've played TF2; I used to go by the alias PhatMan, if anyone remembers. I've never been in a clan before, because I've never played with the members enough to get to like them, so this is a first. My only issue would be in the requirements post sticky (which btw I read the entire thing!) it said you guys disapprove of cheating, cheating, hacking, and exploits. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a cheater or a hacker, or even an achievement farmer, but I'm not sure on exploits. I take great pride in jumping up to the highest places you were never to reach as scout or soldier. I think it's really fun. You know, like in 2fort, on the front of each building there's a sign that you can rocket jump onto, even though it shouldn't have any width seeing as how its painted on the wall. I can go w/out all that if it means joining the clan, but, kind of a killjoy don't you think? They're not THAT advantageous. (I get brownie points for spelling that word right on my first try.) So can I be a member? :) Also, school starts for me soon, so I won't be as active as I was over the summer. Kinda picked a bad time to enlist. :\

You play soldier and scout? I think your most memorable moments are when you go spy.
A good spy is the kind of spy that backstabs me multiple times in the worst possible situations, and then next time I see them I stop whatever I'm doing to chase them down with my Übersaw for revenge.
But as for exploits, unless you're griefing by going underneath the map or inside walls, half of the point of double jumps and rocket jumps is to allow soldiers and scouts to camp in high places. People that complain about difficulty shooting a perfectly visible player can just cry moar.
Technically I'm not even a member yet, but hell, I think you've got some skills to offer. If you think you won't be as active after summer, join the club. It's kinda hard to afford a gaming computer and an internet connection without being involved in a job or school.

Thanks for applying Falcon! Here's how it works, once Dragon or Splinter come a long and tell you to 'tag up, there will be a 2 week period where all the pDs clan members get to know you. It will be VERY helpful if you are active here in the forums as well as the Tempest servers so we can all have a chance to find out what kind of a person you are.... what happens often if someone is not active here in the forums, the vote goes up for your membership and someone says 'WHO?'..
The next phase is a 1 week poll in the private forum. At the end of that time, the results of the poll are made known to you. Dragon or Splinter will let you know you've been accepted or been extended for 1 week because folks either haven't seen you post or on the servers.

Hey MarioMario, and thanks everyone. Ehm, I don't just play as soldier and spy, I sort of play as every class except sniper and medic. I play medic if the team needs it but I usually complain to get other people to play sniper if I find myself getting headshotted too much. :P I have most hours as Engi, though, because we usually need defense. Anyway, I'll try to be active on the forums. The only website I'm actually active on is FPSB, but I'll see if I can troll these forums too. I do like to be a team player, even when I'm spy, and I like that your clan encourages that instead solo rushing, which is too frequent. I'll admit I'm not too active on the mic when everyone else is silent, I'm kind of an introvert. As for the exploits, no I don't do stuff like go underground or in the skybox, out of bounds, or anything. Well, I don't do that and then juice it for cheap kills, which is what exploiting really is. If I do find myself in some out of bounds area I'll take to the to spraypaint, taunt, and take a screenie. :) And thanks for the compliments on my l33t spy skillz from last night. Well, I'm not actually l33t. Spies a real hit or miss for me, either I pwn and line up one backstab after another, or their defense is so tight I can't make it past the 2fort bridge. I'm looking forward to wearing the pDs tag, even with the [R]!

Hey everyone, thanks for all the support. I'm so glad you guys aren't like the usual clans, who are harsh and unsupportive. I edited my steam name, it now bears the tag and the recruit symbol. I'll get some serious gaming in on your servers, and now I'm off to falcon kick around your forums.

It's been two weeks!!
I met new pDs members since I applied, so that's good. I played a ton up until school started, and then... well I played on the weekends.
I guess I really didn't participate much in the forums, and I think I left a bad impression on a few people in the politics forum...
I went to PAX but I didn't meet up with anyone. :\
But I don't think I made any enemies, and I got to know as many members/admins as I could, so, I can't wait to hear the verdict.

As you may or may not be aware, last week we held a Penguinlanfest party thing that many of our clan and admin team had attended. Due to this event and circumstances beyond our control (mainly, they were all to drunk), the poll was neglected to be posted. Since this was not your fault, I fast tracked the poll for three days. However, I am not a senior member of the Admin team (meaning I have little power  ) and may be overridden in my decision. (Could be to your benefit though!)

Yea I wish I could have went to the Penguin Lanparty thing, I'll see if I can get to it next time.
I don't mind if the polls are delayed, I understand hangovers and such.
