And so we live day after day, hoping the good experiences will outweigh the bad ones in the long run. Try to get some joy and happiness out of the small pleasures in everyday life, while the shadow of our overall misery is looming behind us.
Imagination is a gift. And a curse. In your imagination you can live your dreams, submerge yourself in wishful thinking and truly relish in delusions of grandeur. For a while, this flight from reality is a real bonus. Often, imagination fabricates hope. Which is essentially a good thing, we wouldn't be getting anywhere without hope. It's what keeps us going, whatever the odds. Until your hope is crushed. Time and time again. You thought it couldn't get any worse? No worries, Murphy's always got another ace tugged up his sleeve for you. Just for you. So what you say, there's still someone I can turn to for comfort. There's still some hope I might see the light eventually. Bring it on then, you can't wear me down. Why ok, says Murphy. And on it goes.. and on.. and on. Until you realize, you're slowly running out of options. You think your friends can help you out? Bugger, they got a private date with Murphy themselves. So what do you do? Put yourself to bed, turn up the volume on that very special music selection of yours until the neighbours come ringing. Buy a bottle of booze and empty it if you want. Try to sleep, and sleep you will. You wake up - and hey, a new day is there. The sunlight is seeping through the shades, surely there is something nice going to happen to you today, and.. oh. Zonk. There we go again, barely 3,3826 seconds after waking, your memory cells boot up and you.. remember. Problems rush you from every side, and the fridge is empty too.
But you get up. Mentally shake your fist at Murphy. Begin your day without breakfast, food's overrated anyway.
And so we live day after day, hoping the good experiences will outweigh the bad ones in the long run.
Hope's a bitch, and she's shagging Murphy. All the time. I am not an alcoholic... I am a drunk.... Alcoholics go to meetings. Wow. I am really struggling with why you were not granted admin powers. Bloodhands, life is not perfect. We all have a combination of choices and circumstance that place us where we are at this point. We have power over our decisions, we can not always control the circumstances. The only advice I can give is try to make wise choices and work through the circumstances. I have seen days and times as you describe, and thankfully, it got better. The fact that you get up again the next day shows that you are capable of getting past the barriers before you. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

I've had kind of a crappy time myself. Lost a friend because I apparently didn't meet the unspoken standards. Kinda caught me off guard. But...I always remind myself of this: "For you to be here now, trillions of drifting atoms had to assemble in an intricate and intriguingly obliging manner to create you. It's an arrangement so specialized and particular that it has never been tried before and will only exist this once. For the next many years, we hope, these tiny particles will uncomplainingly engage in all the billions of deft cooperative efforts to keep you intact and let you experience the supremely agreeable, but generally under appreciated state known as existence. Why atoms take this trouble is a bit of a puzzle. They are mindless particles, after all, and not even themselves alive. It is a slightly arresting notion that if you were to pick yourself apart with tweezers one atom at a time, you would produce a mound of fine atomic dust, none of which had ever been alive but all of which had once been you. Yet somehow for the period of your existence they will answer to a single overarching impulse; to keep you you. The bad news is that atoms are fickle and their time of devotion is fleeting, fleeting indeed. Even a long human life adds up to about 650,000 hours, and when that modest milestone flashes past, for reasons unknown, your atoms will shut you down, silently disassemble, and go off to be other things. And that's it for you. Still, you may rejoice that it happens at all. Generally speaking in the universe it doesn't, so far as we can tell. Whether or not atoms make life in other corners of the universe, they make plenty else, indeed they make everything else. Without them, there would be nothing, nothing at all. So thank goodness for atoms. But the fact that you have atoms and that they assemble in such a willing manner is only part of what got you here. To be here now, alive in the twenty-first century, and smart enough to know it, you also had to be the beneficiary of an extraordinary string of biological good fortune. Survival on Earth is a surprisingly tricky business. Of the billions and billions of species of living things that have existed since the dawn of time, most, 99.99%, are no longer around. Life on Earth, you see, is not only brief, but dismayingly tenuous. Not only have you been lucky enough to be attached since time immemorial to a favored evolutionary line, but you have also been extremely, make that miraculously, fortunate in your personal ancestry. Consider the fact that for 3.8 billion years, a period of time older than the Earth's mountains, and rivers, and oceans, every one of your forebears on both sides has been attractive enough to find a mate, healthy enough to reproduce, and sufficiently blessed by fate and circumstances to live long enough to do so. Not one of your pertinent ancestors was squashed, devoured, drowned, starved, stuck fast, untimely wounded, or otherwise deflected from its life's quest to delivering a tiny charge of genetic material to the right partner at the right moment, in order to perpetuate the only possible sequence of hereditary combinations that could result eventually, astoundingly, and all too briefly, in you." Taken from A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson. :)

You still have your cock. At least that something. Just think of that Bobbit guy after his wife took a kitchen knife to get her a slice of his manhood. She then drove down the road a bit and tossed the little nub into an empty field. There, your life doesn't suck so much after all. Er, chin up there trooper, it will all get better over time. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit." Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. " WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore." GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD" llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!" Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

The story, which was nicely written, reminded me of a bumper stick I saw once that read :
"No matter how fine she is, someone else is sick of her shit."
