Investigation ≠ Corruption

Remember this one?

It's the outcome of the investigation that matters, not the fact that some other politician got one started.  Some things that have already occurred, however, like this, should be taken into consideration.

Unless.... of course... you're starting from the position that someone is bad and looking for reasons to justify it.  I'm just saying...

I also love how things like connections to convicted felons (wasn't it Hillary that called him a "slum lord"?), radical hate-spewing preachers, and unrepentent terrorists doesn't bother you a lick, but MY GOD if someone has an ethics investigation, they're corrupt hypocrites.

Reputations don't mean shit either.

Unless you're looking the other way on her real actions and just accept what the party and her handlers put forward as her "image."  I'm just saying.....

Honestly, I'm not familiar enough with Palin to say one way or the other, and yet, I find it somewhat disconcerting that everyone on the mainstream media seems to support this, and yet, almost everything I have read, from liberal and conservative independent sources, seem to suggest that shes just as in the pocket of big oil, just as slavishly oriented toward the conservative christians and as anti-civil rights as the Bush administration.

The thing about Palin is that she totally undercuts McCain's primary line of attack on Obama - that he lacks experience. She has less experience than Obama, and with McCain's age and health issues the odds are significantly raised that she could wind up becoming El Presidente. So wtf can he attack Obama on now? If "experience matters" is going to be the battlecry then all Obama has to do is say orly? and point at Palin.

I don't know why I even bother trying to reason...

Investigations mean shit because as my link above tried to show, they can be based as much on political motivations ad anything else. Reputation means anything but shit, it's a derivative of one's actions. And I never said she should only be judged on her reputation -- by all means consider her actions.

Yeah, she's in the pocket of big oil, all right. She raised taxes on the oil companies bringing in record tax revenue to her state!

Yes, she is a Christian. Kind of sad that that's a big negative in your mind (really showing your big tent Denocrat party openness there)

And yes, she is pro-life. Meaning she doesn't support killing a baby because it hasn't been born yet. I'm happy to have a discussion of abortion (and I believe we already did), but if believing abortion is the taking of a human life (and thus, hopefully, should be discouraged) makes one "anti-civil rights," then give me a fucking break.

I'm soooo fucking tired of you narrowminded partisan children towing a hypocritcal party line like anyone with an 'R' after their name is by default the root of all evil. It's laughable to even imagine if someone with the questionable ties that Obama has appeared on a Republican ticket, when you play your little bullshit echo chamber games over a fucking investigation! And this is the guy you want to be PRESIDENT!

Being a Christian (Or any god-figure oriented religion) is a negative in and of itself Imo, but what I WAS referring to was the pandering of the US government toward evangelicals, namely 25% of the U.S. population and ignoring the rights of the rest of the population.

Oh, and the simple fact that you assume I'm a democrat points toward your ignorance.  Democrats and Republicans are for all intents and purposes, the same fucking people.  And fyi....I'm not voting for Obama.

Anti-Civil Rights =/= Pro-Life............and if that is the limit of your view of civil rights...........then, well I feel sorry for you......

And Dick, (nice to meet you yesterday, btw)

I've always felt the "lack of experience" attack was BS. Any president will be so surrounded by advisors and experienced voices, his own experience is a bit secondary. We elect a political philosophy to guide the country -- his aides will provide the means to carry it out.

Though for what it's worth, Obama's choice of Biden undoes his message of Change and the charge that McCain is just a Washington insider, just as much as Palin neuters the experience argument (though, technically, Palin would make an inexperienced Vice President while Obama would be an inexperienced PRESIDENT).

You're right, I AM ignorant of your party affiliation (Socialist? :-D). I was just basing my assumption on your constant one-sided partisan attacks.

I'm sorry......Attacking a singular person on which i thread is based is considered partisan now?

Should I bring in all my attacks against Obama, against Nader, against Kucinich, in a thread which has nothing to do with them? NOPE.

Say something positive about Palin.

Then, say something positive about McCain.
