Yeah, it was quite obvious Bush's endorsment speech for McCain was nothing but old politics. A short and rather uninteresting/unprovoking speech described Bush's sad excuse of an endorsment. i can't find an article, but I watched the news and it stated how they studied Bush's facial expressions (like how the FBI does when they interrogate suspects) and it lead to the conclusion that there was nothing behind Bush's words, as it was just a political stunt and something he had to do.

And then there's this: http://www.democrats.org/a/2005/09/bushs_speech_to_1.php

But yeah, as expected, a pretty sad speech on Bush's part.

An article covering the speech: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/us/politics/03repubday.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

Kinda like Hillary doing the big fake smile and the command for her delegates to vote for Obama.  Of course it's a political stunt.  If Bush didn't endorse McCain, what do you think would happen? lol  It would take the attention off of them nominating their choice to represent the Republicans in the election and turn the focus on "why Bush didn't endorse McCain."

Politics is very much a game.  Fascinating, but a game nonetheless.  I actually think there's very little actual difference between Obama and McCain when it comes down to it.  Obama will do whatever the polls tell him and McCain is going to stay the course.

I saw  the lack of interest from Bush as well, but in all honesty Bush and McCain despise each other(see 2000 Republican primary).
