Lazy ass...
Anyway, ...
It's owned by the Fox Entertainment Group, which got its name from William Fox (William Fuchs), which is wholly owned and controlled by "News Corporation" since it publically traded its stock, and News Corporation bought all the shares.
The chief executive officer and founder, is Rupert Murdoch. The president and chief operating officer is Peter Chernin, who also is corporate director of American Express.
Rupert Murdoch hired Republican political strategist Roger Ailes as it's founding CEO. Roger Ailes was the media consultant for Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, as well as Rudy Guiliani's first mayoral campaign in 1989.
Fauxnews biased? I think so.

And what media organization do you get your information from? :) I'm sure it's connected directly to conglomerate with its own political agenda.

Give me a frickin' break! That clip is complete BS. It features: - Fox New opinion commentators (as opposed to hard, supposed to be impartial, news), including
- Sean Hannity
- Bill O'Reilly
- Interviews with people being asked for their, quite possibly biased opinions, including
- Dick Morris
- Newt Gingrich (yeah I'm sure he's not biased)
- and several STAFFERS FOR THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN!
- Talk radio clips, even of people not on Fox News
- Bill O'Reilly
- Sean Hannity
- John Gibson
- RUSH LIMBAUGH?
- MICHAEL SAVAGE??
The closest thing this clip comes towards putting forth a case for bias would be against hard news reporters. It only has two clips of them, and they're of misstatements of fact, not attacks or indications of bias. - David Asman (at 0:40 in the clip) stating that no other campaign has planned its presidential transition team. At best it's a misstatement, but it makes a great deal more sense if you have the full context. Here is the full segment the clip came from. The story was addressing an attack by the McCain campaign that Obama was being arrogant, and criticizing him for putting together a transition team so early, not at all. Not that you could tell that from the BS snippet they took.
- Random female reporter (at 2:34 in the clip) repeating an explanation by the Obama campaign for not visiting the military hospital in his overseas trip. I'm assuming they're calling her out for the statement that the Pentagon refused to let him go with media cameras, but they don't give any more than the Family Feud [X] and move on. I'm not up on the exact quote the Obama campaign used, but at best she misquoted the Obama campaign (though it wasn't insanely off the mark, if I recall). It was more something about him not being able to bring his campaign advisor or something pretty innocuous, but hardly proof of Fox New bias.
It's always amazing to me the number of otherwise rational people that loathe Fox News. Ask them whether they actually WATCH it, and they say no, usually pointing me to something stupid like Outfoxed. Ask them how they can be so conclusive about Fox New bias when they don't watch it, they either say they've watched "enough" or point to the channel's opinion commentators like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. The former, maybe a little more to the right than he is left, is plenty independent on a lot of views and, despite the people who criticize him and comment on Youtube clips of his temper and "shouting people down," takes great pains to not take a position in political elections. He has positions on individual issues like Iraq (he thinks it was a mistake) and the death penalty (he's against it), but that's why it's an opinion show. Same thing with Sean Hannity, minus the pains to not be partisan, but that's because he's on a left-right show and he's the right guy (you know, Hannity & Colmes?). That'd be like pointing to Tucker Carlson on Crossfire as an example of CNN conservative bias. But we can play this game if you want. It's not media bias if you have a balanced set of opinion shows, as long as those opinions aren't put forth by the hard news reporters. You know, the guys with the microphones "from the scene" or giving political event reports such as Brit Hume. I'm not conceding any major bias by Fox News, but with a 24 hour news cycle I'm sure there'll be misstatements here and there (hard news guy Sheperd Smith has quite humorous ones). Even if Fox was slightly more right than center, it's no where to the degree of other news outlets. Let's look at a few gems (from their hard news political reporters no less): | | | Why aren't you going after those networks for being biased? Because it's a bias you agree with? I certainly hope it's not that you can seriously watch those clips and say it doesn't exist. And if you say you don't watch those networks either, what the heck news station DO you watch? The thing is, is that most of the people who watch fox swallow up the bullshit as if it were fact. It doesn't matter if they're opinion commentators or news anchors, if you watch Fox for an hour you're guaranteed to have at least one lie or misleading statement thrown in there. I'm not going to bother researching shit and finding videos because I'm not that dedicated to the argument. But Fox are simply irresponsible journalists. They often cut off or manoever around the rational arguments of left-wing or otherwise non-conservative guests, and I'd say a good majority of the shit they say are either blatant lies, vague unquantifiable abstracts (whether or not someone loves america), or completely asinine bullshit (Sarah Palin having foreign policy experience by living next to Alaska, to name something recent). To answer your last question, Nate, I don't watch tv for the news. I get my news from.. THE INTERNET.

I think the statement was that she had foreign policy experience because she lived in Alaska, which is near Russia. Heck, they are only a few inches away from each other on your standard globe. endyss owned this topic. You wanna take this to Fuck Town? Oh gadzooks, yes!

To answer your last question, Nate, I don't watch tv for the news. I get my news from.. THE INTERNET. I think you prove very well the point that there are plenty of people on both sides that just swallow up the bullshit, btw. As to Fox as "irresponsible journalists," who "often cut off or manoever around the rational arguments of left-wing or otherwise non-conservative guests," and that "a good majority of the shit they say are either blatant lies, vague unquantifiable abstracts (whether or not someone loves america), or completely asinine bullshit," you perfectly demonstrate my point about some out there hating Fox News when they rarely or never watch it. You even admit you don't watch it, or any cable news stations at all. I'm not going to post here on the Internet and argue the superiority of one over the other (although...), but you are the textbook case of robotically repeating the inflammatory and often just libelous crap that radical people spew about Fox News. You remember incorrectly. The first 3 are on Fox News in various capacities (the first two solely as commentators, and the third used to have a show in the afternoons, now replaced with election coverage) and have their radio shows through Fox News Radio (though technically a separate entity). Rush Limbaugh has probably been a guest on Fox News a tiny handful of times and his radio show is through Clear Channel, and Michael Savage... I don't even know if that idiot even has a radio show anymore, but certainly nothing on Fox. I haven't even seen him appear on the station as a guest in a long while. I wasn't meaning to say NONE of them are on Fox News, just that a couple of the major (and most egregious of the clips taken) are not. (And FYI, Fox & Friends is the network's morning show, and I don't know that ANY of those people have EVER appeared on that at 3AM Pacific...) HolyJaw wrote:In the end, everything Endyss said.

Don't tell me I'm a robot. I don't support or oppose anything unless I know about it. And to correct your assumption, I go to the internet for news. I watch Fox and MSNBC for entertainment.
