http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/3869.pagein short ppl who talked about secuROM, which has a tendency to fuck up computers, promptly got their copy of the game banned and had to purchase another if they wanted to continue playing which in turn led to a class action lawsuit against EA http://tinyurl.com/4jwdv6 your thoughts? In an hour of Darkness a blind man is the best guide. In an age of Insanity look to the madman to lead the way.

I don't really know all the specific details about this but it looks pretty legit. SecurROM can really fuck up a computer, and I remember having to drive to my brother's house to help him get rid of the shit it clashed with on his computer. I personally think EA can be pretty shitty, so I hope maybe something like this will actually make them get off their ass and change stuff. {pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

Wow, that's some fucking shit. Does it say anywhere in the EULA that they can ban your copy if you talk smack about the DRM? If not that is some serious infringement of personal rights. Of course, only fucking EA. Cocksuckers. I now resolve to never again buy an EA game. I usually never do anyways, but now I am committed to it

When it comes to video games, EA=the man. Don't buy from the man. The only EA game(s) I've bought are the Need For Speed Series...before they ruined everything and decided to appeal to the F&F crowd. NFS V was a great game. get your ass to mars

This makes me laugh. DRM is there to "protect against piracy", but makes pirated versions that much more in demand to folks that would normally buy it legitimately.

All the forums said was repeat generation of threads on the topic might result in a banning as the mods have made it clear that further discussion on the matter is to be taken elsewhere given its tendency to cause belligerent arguments. Sounds like a bit of overreaction on your part.

Sounds like a bit of overreaction on your part. Ok. What if I took 50 dollars from you if you flamed somebody. How would you like that?

Well, I guess that raises two questions. Were they warned that they would have their games banned? And were the people banned flaming or were they simply openly discussing the DRM? Regardless, EA is a shitty company. They did a shitty thing. The very fact that they're unwilling to accept criticism shows that they're shitty. And they make shitty games. So fuck them.

Regardless, EA is a shitty company. They did a shitty thing. The very fact that they're unwilling to accept criticism shows that they're shitty. And they make shitty games. So fuck them. Correction: They publish shitty games. EA hasn't developed a game by themselves in quite a long time. They switched to publishing in order to turn a bigger profit, and simply act as a management body for the tons of smaller developers they bought out. Their strategy simply consists of providing ample funding for a game without providing ample time, forcing developers to work quickly like a sort of sweatshop for software. This in turn allows EA to spit out new games annually, never giving customers enough time to realize the error in their ways and negatively affect sales of a game before they're treated to a new product that they can sink their teeth into. This latest news break only proves that EA's greed is worse than we thought.

They still have some say in the developmental process. And I the DRM was probably entirely EA's idea. EA sucks dick anyways so the point is moot.

I'd prefer to stay with the belief that EA is responsible for the downward spiral of Maxis since the release of SimCity4.
