Just as it says. When I go to launch TF2, it stays at the "Preparing to launch Team Fortress 2..." window for literally up to 10 minutes. I've tried restarting steam, and reinstalling tf2, neither have worked. Any ideas? Cantrip wrote:When I die, I want to be reincarnated as a woman's jogging bra.

i guess i didn't mention that it doesn't actually crash. it does eventually load, but the start up time is insane. it also doesn't apply to other games. DoD:S works fine, the "Preparing to launch..." isn't up for long. but for tf2, it stays there for up to ten minutes. it noticed it a few weeks ago, but i thought it was just a one time thing. but it's not. it's frustrating. I have this problem too. I live on the third floor of our apartment building. On the first floor, there is a small grocery store. I can double-click TF2 on my desktop ( though more commonly, I click "Join game" on a steam friend ), leave my apartment, go the grocer, labor over what soda to pick up, trash that idea and buy another case of Brisk, buy it, come back up, and the game will then be making it's way through the load bar. This means that I'll have time to fill out another job application and down a Brisk. requesting syntax to disable gui boot. Safety + Peace

Try defragmenting your TF2 files via the steam menu. Right click on the game in steam and choose properties/local files/defragment cache

TF2>Properties>Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache all in the steam window seemed to do it for me. AKA terminators second link. Thanks Term! Cantrip wrote:When I die, I want to be reincarnated as a woman's jogging bra.
