No, he would take it off the reef, stab his underside numerous times, and leave it injured for a Triton's Trumpet to kill it. That's pretty much it's only predator (in HI, atleast).
It's a shame they kill the reef, they look cool. Damn them.
Ok, whew! there was actually a time where one of the islands in the phillipines was paying people to take a hatchet to them on the reef itself, no need to expand on why that worked out so well....
Aren't the TT's used for food or something, and hence their declining population? Can't remember all the details, but yea, very cool critters.
And agreed, I need to get into scuba diving, one of those things I've always meant to do, but never put enough fire under my ass to save up for and do. It's definitley on my mid-life crisis list for being out of school finally and having paid off my student loans.
