For good card reviews and frame rate tests, I'd use guru3d.com It's pretty good too.
That card is a PCI-E card. Not very many HP motherboards (none I can think of anyway) are both AGP and PCI-E compatable, which means you probably do not have a PCI-E slot. Is the Pavilion 061 the only model number it gives you? If there is somethign more specific I can find diagrams of the motherboard it uses and tell you if you can use that card.{pDs} Lead Salad: bike why did you change your name Jessica343: so I can get heals {pDs} Lead Salad: oh damn good idea {pDs} Lead Salad has changed their name to {pDs} Lead Salad (is a girl) Jessica343: hahah

um went into the device manager and went into mobo section....driver version 5.1.2600.0 if that helps..also says there is a PCI bus..not sure what that means... maybe it means there is a PCI-E plug..not sure..maybe you could tell me how to get a more in depth info on the computer model.thanks I like what you guys put while I was away, but I think it was best that I changed it.

Dude, right up top you put AGP 8x. That means you won't have a pci-e slot. So when looking for a card you're gonna have to go agp. Here's an Asus Geforce 6800 for roughy the price compusa is charging for a pcie card. www.newegg.com/Product/P...asp?Item=N82E16814121216This card also has 512mb of ram which will make it a bit nicer to have. Although you're gonna have to check out how much power your PSU puts out, cause it might not be up to par with what this card needs. I'm not 100% on what kind of a vid card Asus makes, but they make a pretty nice motherboard so I'm sure it won't explode on you in a week. TerribleNate wrote:Fuck nice... Tell her she is fat and stupid every day. Don't be afraid to pop her one every once and awhile. This will make her think shes doing a bad job and try harder. Believe me, if I started murdering people, there'd be none of you left.

Asus makes quality cards. If you are willing to buy used there are a fair amount of 6600/6800's floating around. If his PSU can't handle the new card chances are he can buy a better one for pretty cheap - the shit they put in HPs are so worthless even a $15 PSU is going to be better! 1gig min, and if you are loading maps, a 10000rpm drive will get you in the game and running for that flag b4 anyone else can get ya! I use 2 6600gt's and even a single does a good job. Better to buck up for a 7600 with 256 meg ddr3 on it. Preferably pci express. They make it in agp as well. Soundcards can ease processor usage, too. I use spdif(optical out) int my home theater. It sounds awesome even though I'm using onboard on my asus a8n-sli deluxe.
