This is LOL. Don't be fooled though. Sometimes my mom used to let me play out my tantrums in public, without saying a word. She preferred to beat me in the comfort and privacy of the home. Closed the blinds and shit. Man, I feel loved. -_-

I've raised 4 1/2 kids (last one is 8--jury still out). Never hit or spanked any of them but never allowed the type of behavior you saw either. So far , so good. The older 4 have become motivated, civil young adults. It's not necessary to beat it into them, but it takes a lot of work and time to socialize kids. I've had to deal with various crisis situations through the years and had to pick a couple of them up at the police station for petty crimes they got caught with when they were young teens. Consistency, fairness, clearly defined boundaries and consequences followed through with violations and lots of love and respect = good kids. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

I believe that physical discipline is normal and healthy. There is also a line that crosses over into physical abuse. I have experienced both, and once you cross that line into abuse, the trust is broken and physical discipline is no longer effective. One of my greatest fears is that when we have children, my body will react before my brain can stop me. Whether we want to admit it or not, we ARE more like our parents than we may ever realize, and seeing the tears of abuse as the norm my have conditioned my body and emotions to use force first. I am very aware of it, and therefore prevent it, but I am still afraid that I may have a weak moment and regret it. No child deserves a beating that leaves them black and blue, humiliated, and ashamed to exist. There are ways to deal with anything a child could, should, would do. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

And I'm not sure how to use the pic you posted? It's kind of blurry and has writing on it.
Pixelation is fixed by shrinking it. Either some cropping or the clone tool would remove the writing. Oopsie wrote:I believe that physical discipline is normal and healthy.
