Not really my thing. Even though I have a second generation G15 I dont even use the macros for any FPS. I dont use any scripts for detonating stickies or switching weapons either. Eveything is old school hand speed. So while Im sure Wars keyboard will be useful to some, I find it excessive.

*Being left handed also probably helps on a traditional WASD keyboard.

Back in the quake1/quakeworld days I fucked around with fancy macros and shit for several months and gradually got away from them until q2ctf where I just had some that did shit like "flag dropped" or "enemy on bridge". It always felt kind of cheap to me so I wound up being a pure hand speed kind of person too.
I started out pure keyboard, then had this crazy joystick set up going for awhile which worked surprisingly well, then switched over to mouse in the early days of quake1. The only requirement I really have is a mouse with a wheel, 2 or more buttons on top, and a side button for the thumb (secondary fire!). I have an MX1000 that has a crazy amount of buttons on it, I've tried using all of them but beyond the 2 on top, the wheel, and the side button, I've never really felt any benefit.

nothing out of the ordinary here except I use the thumb button on the mouse to jump. the idea was to free up the hand for weapons changes and that but it's actually backfired, i'm more likely to hit something completely random.
yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

asdw

Although the layout Rikaelus mentions sounds more 'hand friendly', I'm not sure I would be able to change at this point in time.. too set in my ways.

Works for me. I have big hands so using asdw would mean bending my ring and index fingers underneath my middle finger.. a bit uncomfortable after a while. "asdf" avoids that and it's intuitive since your hand would be in that same position following proper typing styles.

I love the keyboard.

Yes its capable of doing macros but I have never bothered to program it in. I think it would be hella useful though in games like EVE or Sins etc. Where menus can have some depth to them.

If you look close the red keys say WASD on them along with Q and E above and to the left/right.

The way the other keys are moved away from the movement keys makes them easy to use and your fingers dont slip off. Also you can see the other keys around the movement keys are round giving them a different feel.

I use WASD for movement. F for quick switching. Q for weapon 1. E for weapon 2.

Mouse 4 works awsome for pulling out the shovel real quick.  "Use" has always been mouse wheel button for me. With mouse wheel still changing weapons up and down.

Now that I'm thinking about it I really dont think I use mouse 2. Thats really wierd. Used to be my grenade button where you could "milk" the nades and toss em at the right moment.

As for speed with fingers... I have 17 years of guitar and my mind just kinda "plays" without much thought be it Games or Music.
