Puns aside, a ukulele is a four-stringed instrument. The four strings follow the tuning of the highest 4 strings on a guitar. Or, the bottom 4 strings. So if you know how to play guitar chords, they will work with with a ukulele. Repeat, a ukulele is tuned like a guitar but it is missing the low E and A strings. Just pretend you're playing and a guitar and that the top two, or lowest-toned strings, are broken and you have yourself another instrument you can claim to know to play.
