On the one hand, it does deviate from the intention of the creators. On the other, it does support a sense of community which was a separate intention of the creators. Consider that Valve hasn't taken any steps to stop the achievement servers, and there is no way that they haven't seen them and thought about them. It's all up to how you feel about them and about the rewards. Safety + Peace

Went to an achievement server for the medic achievements. It was full of 12 year old boys. Left a couple minutes in.

Will I shirk the system? Yes. Will I use an achievement server? No. Private server with people you know is the way to go. Especially if they know how to modify the damage variables, etc.  You wanna take this to Fuck Town?

You know, I used an achievement server for the pyro stuff and once I did that, I went back and found an achievement server for the earlier release of the medic achievements. I find the original flamethrower secondary weapon and the shot gun more useful than the new weapons. And I don't get the idea behind the new ax, so I don't use it. And for the medic, I use the original uber weapon. I don't live long enough in that class to make use of the other new weapons. I'm sure it will be the same with this new Heavy update. However, I have seen Bendy use an krit medic and an uber medic for some kickass results. Anyway, i don't feel so bad about using an achievement server to get the weapons because I don't really use them. You should be more like Cantrip.  Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." The kritzkrieg is kind of useless, mostly because the person you use it on has a bad habit of rushing to their death but also because whenever someone sees you trigger it you become the only target. I imagine it would be good for group rushes but I've never really seen it used very effectively. Besides that I use both the new medic weapons. With the pyro I really like the new flamethrower, mostly cuz I like to take people from behind to begin with. The new axe is kind of dumb, and the fireball shooter thing is pretty shitty but I still use it mostly because it's funny to nail snipers with it from long distance. I dunno wtf they are going to do with the heavy, he seems strong enough already and the guns he has make sense as they are. I'd much rather they just ungimped the soldier. What if . . . what if you get kritzkrieg going on a heavy with a first medic, so that every bullet is a crit, then a second medic to uber the heavy and a third medic to uber the first medic? I used an empty server full of bots to get half of the pyro achievements.
