I'll ask my pilots what it means today. Considering I live with a mix of Russians, Ukranians, Kazackstanians someone will know.
P.S. if you stress the "V" in vodka Russians will just look at you strange as if your speaking some alien language. The "v" works like it does in spanish where it sounds like a "B". So call it Bodka and they will pour you another shot.
Dave,
Living it up on the Afghanistan/Pakistan Border.

OK the Phrase means " I kiss you strongly" in Russian.
I'll give you all an update on my fun time here when I can get enought pictures uploaded to make it worth while.
The pilots are "super professional" as they would say. Most flew in Afghanistan in the Russian Military during thier war here.
I tell you landing on a LZ while the Army soldiers make a perimeter around you and your helicopter is pretty sweet. We don't stop the engines sometimes and we just kick the cargo out the back and get the fuck outa dodge.

Haha well looks like babelfish was way off as usual.
That's really interesting that you're working with ex-soviets. What's the company called that you work for, again? Do you ever discuss US-Russian relations with them? What do they think about the war in Georgia? Or Chechnya?

The company I work for is Supreme Aviation. Supreme food service hsa been around since just after WW2. They have done many subsistance resupply missions in many conflict areas. The helicopter division of thier Aviation wing is very new. Right now we fly Helo Ops in Afghanistan, Sudan and the Ivory coast. We are try to bid into Iraq.
Some of the Russians I work with where ex-communist party but most are not. They think all very Highly of Americans but think that American politics gets in the way of the cooperation of the people of the U.S. and the people of Russia. They all think that Vlademir Putan was a great president when in office because he did alot to curb gangs and corruption in thier country. The folks I work with realize that everyone has a family to take care of and that is thier priority here regardless of nationality or race. Hell I have one crew that is Russian but Muslim and yet they deliver Ammo and other supplies to American Forces. Just shows you that the world is a bizzare place.
All three of my pilot here in Sharana Afghanistan flew here during the Soviet era. They dont even need a GPS to find thier way around.
As for the war in Georgia, most of them think the Georgians are beautiful people. Most have visited there and know it as a good vaction spot with a friendly culture. There are however a few individuals that think of Georgians as weak and only good for being merchants. Those individuals don't work for me directly but I have spoken to them on occation and they laughed when Georgias militay was crushed buy the Russians.
I have not spoken to them about Chechnya.
I have however collected some BADASS video of some of my pilots flying in Russian "Hind" helicopters. When I go on vacation I will upload them for you viewing pleasure. I have also made a music vid here of our operations that I will upload on vaction.
I'd upload them here now if I could but the internets here are the SUX.
