Actually, how many people are still playing it? Is that corp still alive? Because I remember there were a few non-pdsers in there.

I would wager that a majority of the folks playing WoW never see the really interesting parts of the game, ie, the endgame and 40 man instances. "Interesting" is a relative term, though I would like to see the raid instances. But there's so much politics surrounding raids that it's ridiculous. I won't pretend I have a busy life but to commit to raid times on a weekly basis is a pretty big commitment when you're married. Wives usually don't understand a commitment to a game when they want to go out to dinner - even though my wife, having played WoW for a while - is more understanding than most. But even if I did get into a raid group... I wouldn't want to do it every week. I'd just want to see the instance then be done with it. I'm not into the game for PvE gear which I think is an absolutely stupid reason. What's the point in spending hours a week following a strict script of behavior against super-difficult mobs, when tomorrow Blizzard will turn around and just add more levels and more tiers of equipment? I guess it's like running for enjoyment. I wouldn't do that. I'd run to achieve a goal, but Blizzard just keeps pushing back the finishing line making the "goal" an unreachable thing. But I digress. WoW endgame pretty much pisses me off, so I'm in it for the community, and being an RPer in an RP community expands that potential.

I played EVE maybe consistently for 5 months or so then lost interest. From that point on it was a game that I wanted to enjoy, but just never could. I finally canceled my subscription altogether a few months ago and now put that money towards donations to the clan.

We could do a WoW guild if you'd like. I won't be apart of it, but I'll give you forum space for it.

I'm surprised to find myself saying this but I wish I could grind in that game sometimes.

By the way, does Blizzard kill your character if you don't play it for a long time? I tried searching my toon in the armory and nothing came up. Also tried what I think my account name and email at the time were and nothing. I hate when they do that shit. I lost a 90 druid in D2 because of that. Which is why I like EVE, they don't do that AFAIK.

I have no idea whether your character might get delisted from the armory, but I know for a fact that they never actually delete your account or characters. what about some COD:4 servers? seems to be a pretty popular game and i loved it. Perfected COD2 style gameplay. Quick fast strategic entertaining. Reason for not doing COD:4 so far: I don't know the server interface. I have srcds (hl2 based servers) memorized. I can do anything with that. I know the ins and outs of how it functions. COD4 uses a different command structure, a different file structure, etc. Also, srcds is standalone and a free download. I can run a server without buying the game, etc. COD4 is the shittiest server structure ever. I have to literally install the entire game to run a server out of it. That seemed like a royal pain in my ass. However, if you guys really really want it, perhaps one of you COD4 guys can learn the server interface and be nominated to manage our COD4 servers. Our web interface, while still buggy, has COD4 options if you want to run one. I'll donate the space for it.

Depending on how long it takes to learn it and maintain it, I may volunteer.
