I never throw away plastic soda/water bottles without pouring them out first. Why do I do this? The whackonuts keep spewing bile about how we're running out of fresh water or some shit like that... or water in general, I wasn't listening. But I do my part. I pour the liquid out so that it can rejoin the ecosystem instead of sit trapped and useless in a bottle in a pit somewhere. I'm an environmentalist, after all. Discuss.

But it evaporates! IT EVAPORATES! My dad produced a little known kids science show when I was very young. One of the things it taught me is that liquid evaporates. This is key. When I was young I ran outside one day and pulled my dick out and pissed on the deck. My dad came out and before he could say anything I turned and looked at him and said "it's ok, dad, it'll evaporate." I'm an environmentalist. Remember that when I'm peeing on you. It'll evaporate.

I don't do this because I think that the fluids trapped in plastic bottles for untold millions of years will turn into tiny little closed ecosystems and weird things will evolve in them. Then, far in the future if any intelligent life finds them they will be puzzled and spend centuries debating how and why they exist. I usually don't feel too guilty when I fail at recycling, I think I make up for it by picking up trash whenever I'm in the wilderness. I once found a bottle off-trail that appeared to be from at least the 1980's, and of course I've found lots of really old beer cans. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I don't recycle because Penn and Teller told me not to. I live by their word. Also, we burn most of our trash. Sirus explained it to me once... something about Russian way of life and stuff. Plus we have no heating in our house.

Fact is, the current infrastructure isn't going to do jack shit in the grand scheme of things. It's not until the government (city, state, whatever) invests in an infrastructure that simply goes through all our trash for recyclables, that recycling will make a dent into our pollution problems. People are just too lazy and criteria is just too strict for it to gain widespread use.

I have family that lives in a rural area and they burn their trash because the county charges a ridiculous fee to dump at the landfill. :o You wanna take this to Fuck Town?
