I live in Seattle. They charge us to recycle. Also, we can't opt out of recycling. It's against the law. We have to recycle. We aren't charged if we don't put our can out for recycle day. We burn our cardboard. Forcing people to recycle is messed up. We don't support it. We moved to Seattle after that shit was enacted into law. We are now recycling only because it's cheaper than how much it costs to get a bigger trash bin. We can't fit our waste into our current standard size. It's a $30 increase in SPU prices to upgrade our garbage can. Now we kinda recycle.

But anyway, there are recycle bins next to every trash can at my school and I make a point to stand there for a moment, look at other students, then toss the empty or semi-empty bottle into the normal trashcan. I just don't care. Earth is a self correcting system and as George Carlin once postulated...maybe man's purpose was to bring plastic to the Earth.

Bestiality is no longer legal. Lap dances are still illegal. As a state that I once considered one of the most liberal and open, we're really gaying it up with our laws.

Thread necromancy. Man, I really hate "green". I consider myself an environmental conservationist. I favor ideas that truly benefit both people and the rest of the natural world, and I think that resources should be gathered and waste should be disposed of in the most prudent way. I'm not a preservationist, which are the people who are more idealistically aligned and who don't want the environment abused in any way, and they have a long list of things they consider abuse. I can respectfully disagree with these people. But what I really cant stand is this "green" bullshit. Right away you can see why green is inferior to conservationism and preservationism: It's a shorter word. It's a short little word you see in an advertisement that gets people's attention and doesn't challenge their intellect. They want to make you think of meadows and forests and how beautiful they are and how the whole world will look if you just help them pass that bill to force big evil corporations to buy low-flow toilets. That's what people are who call themselves "green": mindless consumers. People who would sign a petition without question as long as the booth had the word "green" on the sign, people who put PETA stickers on stop signs and busses.. rather than open a book or do google search and actually learn about what they so vehemently oppose or support. It's actually pretty funny how the new radical leftism parellels with consumer culture. Well anyways that's my rant.. don't ask why I was compelled to bring this topic back to post this.. it involves boredom and wandering aimlessly across the information superhighway..

One day I am going to write a Sinclair'esc American novel and pattern one of the characters off you. Quote:
