LoL. I know! It's spectacular! It's too bad that, much like the blue angels seafair, or 4th of July, its so rare that Defiance only gets to see it about once per year. Quote:

Yeah, its on that rare occasion that Giller actually gets to where the fight is without being batted/shot by a scout, or backstabbed. [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com

I'm sad I missed this, I caught some of it Saturday morning before we left town but wasn't very impressed. Admittedly I was sitting in a restaurant most of the time so I didn't have the best view. I've been to several airshows and seen the whole blue angels extravaganza before. I loved it as a kid, it made me want to sign up for the military and fly those things. Until I realized you sometimes have to kill people who may not be The Evildoers, and they have stricter requirements than the fucking Nazis. Seriously, it's really fucking hard to even qualify for the training, let alone to actually make it through and fly one of those things. Anyways, stunt flying is fucking awesome. The blue angels are just a really expensive advertising campaign for the military. I'm kind of OK with that, I would actually prefer it if all the military did was entertainment. They have so many badass toys, and there is no way they will ever get defunded (seriously, the cold war is fucking over already!) so instead of killing hajji and pissing off the world I would much rather have the best entertainment money can buy. Totally random but on the way back we stopped in Sequim and I guess there is some kind of stunt flying practice or something there. I was driving along heading back to 101 when I saw a prop plane stall and start to nosedive. I thought I was going to see a crash before I realized the guy was pro. Not as cool as jets as $30,000,000 fighter jets but it was still pretty awesome. Also, I totally dispute that freedom from starvation is not a human right. No one should ever starve except by their own choice. For the sociopathic worshippers of the invisible hand out there, food is cheap as fuck and not very profitable to produce, hungry people are less productive, and starving people don't care about buying cheap plastic crap to be cool. Add it up and on balance you are gonna make more money exploiting people who aren't starving. It's ultimately in your interest, having little kids in Africa or Appalachia desperate for the newest ipod will be far more profitable than having them desperate for a bag of rice. How can you possibly assert that provision of food to be a right? That's the same as to say that all humans possess an inalienable right to oxygen. Sucks to be the guy drowning in an ocean with mother nature denying his "right". Same thing for the food. If you're a poor bastard living in an arid landscape without access to water, you have NO right to farm food and provide yourself sustenance. By the same token, you find yourself on the top of Mt. Everest. You have NO right to food. How are these situations provided by mother nature different than those of a famine? They're not. The right you assert is that those who have food should provide to those who do not. That is not a right, not something that can be argued as a fundamental except as a philosophy. The the WHO claims food as a human right simply demonstrates how screwed up the organization is. The day that people come to realize that overpopulation, especially in areas that do NOT have the resources to counter a lack of food, will see a reduction in population. That this is a basic fact of nature that humans somehow feel we are the exception to has never been something I've understood. You're right, the sudanese purchaser or an ipod has a more vested interest by the apple corporation than the sudanese corpse. However, if it were the case that the sudanese citizen were likely to be able to purchase goods from the corporations, the consumer-fed corporations would take care of the starving sudanese. However, they do not have the resources <mineral, mental, or otherwise> to counter their defecit of food. As such, as nature dictates, the population will be reduced. To defy this right of nature to find balance is akin to defying gravity because you're tired of tree's making you feel small. It just don't work. Oh, and fuck yea to jets.

Screw all the nonsense about who donates what to what, I don't really care. If they want to spend .00000005% of my income to fly a loud jet around be my guest because I happen to love it. Also it makes a GREAT recruitment tool. Who would not want to fly around several tons of metal and advanced materials in the name of the USA? Get paid to fly? Sign me up! P.S. Until you sit by a runway at 2 A.M. and hear the trust-reversers of a jet go off, you have heard nothing and your life (and every stereo you will ever hear) is completely pointless. Try it. Now. Worlds-coolest-sound. P.S.S. Was in Minnesota for a few days at a friends wedding so have not been around. Went to the twin cities and all around them (Eden Prairie, Plymouth, Cokato, and a billion other "towns") had fun and got lost.

This is even more confusing. You think that nature has a right to "find balance"? It really sounds like you are saying that if someone can die then they should, e.g. the starving Sudanese you mention. I've never seen such a strange concept of rights before, how did you come up with these ideas? Oh, and fuck yea to jets. [/quote] Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

That's the worst George Carlin I've seen. The amendments beyond the first 10 Amendments aren't part of the "Bill of Rights". The 9th and 10th Amendments explicitly say that the 10 Amendments aren't a list of rights. There was an epic argument between Jefferson and Hamilton and their respective crews about even having a bill of rights. On one side were the people who thought that explicitly stating rights in the constitution would lead to exactly the problems that it has (e.g. George Carlin's total misunderstanding), on the other were the ones who argued it was pointless and counterproductive to have a "bill of rights" since it could lead to the problems it has. The compromise was the 9th and 10th Amendments, which of course have been shit all over by the government for the past two centuries. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
