i am almost done with well and shipping. both have the same issue with the surface of the water not working properly. also well has a skybox issue that i'm trying to work out. hopefully i will get both of these worked out by the weekend and send them to whut. hopefully i will hear from Murdy soon so that i can get rock ported also. also when i send these maps to whut, i will send a new version of 2_fort that has some tweeks in it for you guys. just sit tight, more maps are on the way.

ok, just finished all the changes for hl2ctf_2fort_b2, so i will send that to whut as soon as i compile it. i just got a reply back from murdy, and he sent me a clean .vmf file for rock2. unfortunetly i will have to start over with this map, but at least this time it will compile (i already checked). as for hl2ctf_well_b1 and hl2ctf_shipping_b1 i am still having the same issues as before with the surface of the water not compiling correctly. i want to get these maps finished because they are starting to piss me off.

i don't need files for those maps, mine are good, i'm just having trouble getting the water to work in HL2CTF mod. it works in regular HL2DM, so something is different. i will probably have to rebuild the water portion in these maps and see if it works. otherwise i don't know what i will do, probably start over. i am almost done with hl2ctf_rock_b1, so hopefully that will work. i might not be able to get the extra pathway to the gas chamber as a breakable and resealable pathway. the map is so big that its almost at its limit allowed. that and i have never built a resealable pathway before. i will make it a breakable wall, then if all is well, when i'm done porting the rest of the maps, i will spend more time to see if i can make it a resealable one.

well it seems that HAMMER is just giving me one problem after another. i can compile the .vsp that murdy sent me, but if i resave it under a different name or modify it in any way, it won't compile. i am refreshing all my files as we speak and if that doesn't work, i'm going to reinstall it. sorry for the wait on these maps. i swear this program has a mind of its own sometimes.

alright guys. i just played on your 2fort port and it's pretty good. the only thing i suggest for your next version. is to work on the asthetics of it all. put some nice curves in it, add a slight theme to each base. don't be scared to change stuff. at the moment it doesn't look like anything has been changed from the tfc version apart from the textures and weapons. don't get me wrong. there is nothing wrong with this. and if all your going for is a straight forward port, then this is perfect and i don't think anything needs to be changed. but if your wanting to make it stand out. the thing you need to work on is the brushwork. also on a side note. i have just got a public beta available for ctf_well. and i didn't realise anyone else was working on a port for hl2ctf. but i thought i would just let you now because it is pretty far on in the development cycle. here is a link to the forum post. http://forums.hl2ctf.net/index.php?showtopic=3111

Yeah, they were simply straight ports from tfc... But I see what you're saying.
We played well last night with about 20 players. It looks beautiful... however, I'm not sure how well it'll work on my server with my speed and gravity settings. It felt like the roof was too low... kept getting stopped by roof objects while bunny hopping. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.
And carentan, that's fine.

The massive ping attack was caused by the fast maps server choking under the pressure of distributing such a large file to so many people.
