Oh, and hi Kelsey. I am less new than those other guys, namely Muff and Frostbite, and Silverwasp. But I don't believe our paths have crossed before. I think i have seen you around once before. But nice to officially meet you :) I think i've given up on the whole "try to be good at tf2" idea. I just plain don't get it haha Kelsey.Bertha.Chuck. Kelsey wrote:I think i've given up on the whole "try to be good at tf2" idea. I just plain don't get it haha That's because everyone is confusing you with their L337 tactics and crazy experience. Honestly, you don't really need to know half of what they're talking about to be good at the game on a pub level. Simply pick a class, play with common sense, and have fun no matter what anyone says. The less you think about the complexity to the game, the more fun you'll have, which will eventually lead you to learning how to play on the level most of us do. If you want to be good at the game right now (no rick roll needed), I can break down who to ultimately avoid or attack on Tempest to better your odds -- more or less I'll point out the people who have this "thing" about playing 400+ hours. Bendy - Avoid him if you want to live. He always has a medic on him. No, he doesn't ever go without a medic buddy. That's how he rolls. Drakhen - Have somebody with you when you fight him. Otherwise, avoid him. Muff - Just mow him down. Don't think about it -- DO IT! Mr. 12 - Avoid him on Turbine. He's a sticky bomb spammer. War - He usually plays Soldier. Fight him from a distance. Frostbite - Kill him infrequently. He's like the Hulk -- he tends to get more aggressive the more you poke him. Bike - Pyro, pyro, pyro! Razor - Just find cover behind something. That man has a tendency to impale small objects into people's heads from a distance. Lead Salad - If he goes spy, trust no one. TripleBam - If possible, join his team. Every time you win a round, you get a victory fanfare. Yes, it's worth it. You're now 100% guaranteed to win every round. Congratulations on becoming as kickass as Chuck Norris in less than 3 minutes! =D DredNaught wrote:In regard to the ladies... or lack thereof: Just remember that it's about quality, not quantity. There's really not much to this game.. all the tactics are really basic and the only classes that require any twitch skill are sniper and to a lesser extent soldier. It usually takes everyone a week to a month, depending on how much you play, to learn the nuances. Once you do, there's only just minor improvements to make. It's basically an elaborate game of rock-paper-scissors. All you have to do to be good in the game is know X class beats y class one-on-one They're using hella y's, I'm gonna play s Uh-oh, I'm approaching (some area), I better watch out for (whatever) They took our shit, I'm gonna go (in the general direction of where they usually take your shit) to intercept them Where all the medkits and ammo packs are on all the maps what a deadringer sounds like Spies are always tinted the color of their team when they cloak and decloak regardless of disguise, they can't perform any animation other than moving around or using voice commands, and when they disguise as a scout they still only single jump and run as fast as a spy. And when they're on fire they glow their team's color. understand what all the unlockable weapons do know all the maps Everyone is hella bad when they play this game for the first time (unless they played the original) because there's 9 fucking classes. I mean all FPS take some time to get good at, they're all nuance-based, but TF2 is REALLY nuance-based. P.S. Don't take any advice from 12, he has no idea what he's talking about. I never play spy.

Frostbite wrote:Guys dont be so harsh on medics, Medic can be REALLY easy to play and learn for beginners if you do it right , more effective then other classes
IF you really wish to help a team medic is the class but play super defensive, Meaning dont rush out there . Stay back from the action , buff everyone you see that needs it and build an uber to use on a good player or to save your own ass
If you want i can give you some tips in game , I play pocket medic to drakhen and bendy at times and know some pointers ..Could also point you out to pro medics if you wanted Wait. Frostbite is being constructive. I...agree...with everything he said--though I'd add that it's important to avoid letting tunnel vision take control and you start ignoring other players calling for a medic while you're playing pocket. If there's a fight going on, stay at the back of it until you're ready to charge. Unless you're really sure of yourself as a medic, it's probably best to even avoid battlezones, sticking to cover and healing your teammates. Lead your target with the needlegun, predict their moves if you can. Safety + Peace

This thread is funny to me because it reminds me of elementary school. 4th or 5th grade when a new girl comes to school and wants to play baseball with the boys. Quote:

Muff - Just mow him down. Don't think about it -- DO IT !Lol muff everyone rags on your furry ass , but its true hes like a ant you just step on him and move on War - He usually plays Soldier. Fight him from a distance. Advoid him at all distances , dude is a soldier in real life and he will kill you no matter where you are far or near Frostbite - Kill him infrequently. He's like the Hulk -- he tends to get more aggressive the more you poke him. God 12 you do know me well dont you , i do start to get serious if someone kills me a lot and i get tunnel vision heh
Bam is right man wtf is wrong with me, i am being helpful to someone .....Think it was because i got my asshole fix for the day by talking shit to the losing team in hero's and making 3/5 people rage quit ... <3 bobo, The bear with the heart of a killer and the claws of one too he he he it doesn't change the fact that most people think Jews are much like the Ferengi of Star Trek. haha yeah except I don't like baseball because I lack hand-eye coordination and end up getting black eyes :/ The greatest lesson I ever learned while playing baseball was that "heads up" doesn't mean what you think it would... Playing TF2 high can be fucking hilarious. If I remember correctly. Also, demoman is the only way to go. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....

It usually takes everyone a week to a month, depending on how much you play, to learn the nuances. Once you do, there's only just minor improvements to make. Well...in 32 man not many classes take skill at all, but i would say if we are talking about skill classes, you really gotta add demoman *cool glasses* It's basically an elaborate game of rock-paper-scissors. Quote:understand what all the unlockable weapons do know all the maps Don't use the fan/sandman/huntsman, they are the gay. If you are new, or coming back from the game, going medic/engy could be good. You will get raged at if you suck at those two classes though :\ But I would say they are the easiest ones to pick up, and if you play medic, you will kinda understand how to be good at other classes. Scout is also a good one, you can be bad at scout and nobody will really notice, or expect anything from you in a pub. However, scout is pretty fun, and if you get good at it, you can really tear up most servers. [CMS]defiance - Steam: defiance018 - Xfire: defianceoby - www.constantmayhem.com
