I totally agree that HL2:Ep 3 should have been done, but I have a theory...
Valve is making this game and similar games as technological benchmarks to see what kind of programming and graphical boosts they can give EP3...think about it. Wouldn't Ep3 be so much cooler if instead of white-bread enemy spawns, a director can be used to spawn exra Combine soldiers when things are going too easy for Gordan Freeman? Also, improved explosion animation -- it would look a whole lot cooler to see a combine soldiers limbs flying around from a grenade indtead of one whole combine ragdoll. Also, with weapons like the shotgun, a player can shoot off a leg or an arm instead of again - another boring combine ragdoll plopping to the ground.

I just think they're trying to make Episode 3 as perfect as it can be

I did not play L4D.

I guess I'll keep KF. If Crawdad wants L4D2, he can get it and I can hijack his computer every once in awhile, but I already have a zombie killing game.

This seems to be the question of the hour!

It's really hard to compare L4D to KF. The basic idea is to kill and survive but it's still 2 different game style. It's like comparing Starcraft 2 or any RTS to Half-life 2 or any FPS game.

L4D is linear with a story broken up into different campaign
Requires a lot more team work
Much easier to play when you have a decent group
Much better voice acting and better character designs
Versus mode and etc.
Director AI that switches it up alittle
Swarm/Horde attack makes the game very intense at times.
No armor and 20 (10 from the back) damage per hit in expert

But...

L4D has a horrible lobby system which I don't know if its completely fixed
Hard to find a good pub game where the guy next to you isn't trigger happy or just likes to move around and run into crossfire or just grief.
Not much difference during each play through. Don't know if it changes much in L4D2, but the basic idea is different weapons at the same spot, the level doesn't change...
Rage quitters... lose once or someone dies once... they will leave...
Way too long even in versus. Reaching a check point is not as rewarding when you complete a entire campaign.
Director AI will not cut it easy for you after your group's 500 time playing it again
It won't last long because it's the same thing over and over

Is it really worth the $50 price tag? Not really... $21-30 is okay but under $20 and it's worth checking it out.

Actually... why don't you try the demo that's out right now?

Add on : L4D did NOT get the same treatment as TF2 did. L4D2 MIGHT get a lot or some DLC/updates to make it more fun to play again. This is the reason why a boycott happened.
