GL man. Are you going camping with supplies/tent and everything with you? or are you gonna try and survive/make shelter/get food by yourselves?

Ive always wanted to see how long I could go by myself in the wilderness.

I bet it'd be hard, modern civilization has destroyed the vast majority this world's natural eco-systems.  Most forests we see today are the result of monoculture farming, where forests are grown with just one or a limited handful of different tree and plant species, being a very limited eco-system if one at all.  Even state and national parks are kinda gay.  Frankly there just aren't many forests with enough recources to support a true back to nature lifestyle.

Umm...BUTTS LOLZ!!!!

Thats not true,

There is still a bunch of stuff still around to be abole to actually live in the woods. You just have to know what you look for.

I didn't say there aren't places like that in the United States, Montana's forests are great examples.  I'm just saying if you plan on completely living off the land for an extended period of time in most U.S forests you'll probably be fucked due to the general lack of resources, making any substantial gathering difficult.  Plus the fragmentation of forest ecosystems and their limited size would make either seasonal gathering or crop rotating a huge bitch.

I forgot, I am going camping for the "family" part of my birthday in a week (as opposed to drinking & pirating with my friends). I'm pretty excited, I haven't in a long while. Hopefully I'll remember how to fish  although I doubt we'll be depending on stuff we catch. My older sis and step-father are more fragile than my mom and I, lol.

Thanks, you furry faggot.

Listen kiddos. Many of you are new to the community... and by new I mean weren't here seven years ago when I was "abducted" from my room by bounty hunters, placed on a plane, and taken to a desert in Utah right outside of Salt Lake City where I was driven four hours into no where and dropped off with a group of kids my age. It was a wilderness rehabilitation center. We all survived with exactly what I listed off above. The only difference? I was there for 56 days.

3 weeks should be a cake walk if I can remember everything they taught me. I plan on bringing a lighter (two, actually... a normal one and my trusty Jack Danials zippo).

I learned the best survival skills ever when I was in this program. We endured extreme heat, extreme cold... starvation... dehydration... the works.

And Craps... I was in a desert for 56 days. They did bring water out that we had to hike to (6-10 miles a day)... but it's possible. If you can find a water source, you boil the water... you're good.

Sacc... Survivor man is partially my inspiration... but at the same time I wish to relive a piece of my life changing experience that I experienced... It saved my life (though I ripped my parents a new one at the time).

I think only a few of you remember... POM was one of them.

I plan to survive... and I plan to return. I'll also be bringing bear mace and some other safety gear.

If they let you take sunblock, I would get AVON’s Skin So Soft because it has the most effective natural bug repellent around.

I would have sued my parents or at least called child protective services on them. But then again, I wasn’t there, and it’s none of my business. No doubt you’ll come back in one piece.

And contrary to what you saw in Brokeback Mountain, I’m told by those in The Know, that spit is not the ideal lubricant.

Good luck.

You should be more like Cantrip.

Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ."
GivePeaceAChance: "If the Tempest had nipples, I'd pinch that shit."
Xylicon: "I'm about to deliver my [Richard] in your face for posting that stupid shit. "
WDF?: "He keeps reaming me... night after night... I'm rather sore."
GivePeaceAChance: "OMG MY NIPS ARE HARD"
llenta: "cantrip, you fail!!!"
Filliam H. Muffman: "i'm on top of dick"

If who lets me take sunblock? I'm in charge.

Bootcamp was the best thing to ever happen to me. And my folks signed over power of attorney. If you knew my situation at the time, you'd see why CPS would agree with their decision.

I'll look into lube.
