I recently joined a team but I'm not sure if it will work out, and my soldier friend still needs a team.

My main goal in all of this was mostly just to bring our community a little closer again. Kind of the mentality that DCMH was taking. I'm not saying I wouldn't buckle down and try to play amazingly, but that's not my primary goal in all of this. But we do have a server that could host practices on fairly easily I do believe (Rikaelus is the master of all things server though). It'll depend how many people are playing at once, since it can't support many. Especially with Minecraft running at the same time.

I'm in, and down to play any class. I think I probably rack up the highest scores with Demo, Heavy, and Medic (and am happy to play any of them) but I'll drop in with any class.
As far as getting the community together...it aint going to happen as long as we hold onto this wdfnews schtick. That wasn't "our" community, it was an established community that a lot of "us" joined into, but when that older group died off it stagnated. What brought that original group together was a certain level of dysfunction, and that's not something that can really be sustained long term, nor "joined" into.

Interesting perspective, and one that supports the notion of rebranding the community with a new name and look.

MEMEMEMEM!! I WANNA I WANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I main medic. I'm definitely in the top ten medics I've ever played with, but my main weakness is poor-uber awareness. =( Second best class would be scout, then soldier, then demo. We should REALLY get into a tourney thats coming up soon, I forget the name but I'll tell superpenguin about it. We could all earn shiny participant medals. =) If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. - Carl Sagan My Backpack

Its a highlander tourney, which is awesome because I think that would be the most fun. Pro-TF2 is sad since it only features 3-4 classes. Registration closes on 1/30 so we have time but not much. My posts are spazzy because I'm about to leave work and want to leave but also wanna finish this post. ARG. crawdad wrote:I'm game, sounds like fun. Just let me know what I need to do. Just post what your class preferences are and I'll try to get things balanced out here. Dalton told me was game as well and that he "can do demo/spy or scout and sniper if we can do practices". Update 1: Frostbite told me he'd play as well! Update 2: Razor wrote:I can't promise the time 100% but as an alternate I think I would be in. I sorta miss the playing TF2 and really enjoyed the tourneys although we got spanked. Yay Razor! What classes do you prefer? Update 3: Mrs. Crawdad and Virus (plus Virus Jr.?)! Yay! So far we have: Super Penguin: soldier, heavy, pyro, demo. Rikaelus: sniper, demo, soldier, pyro (does that order seem right Rikaelus?) Dick Cheney's Mechanical Heart: ? ahhhh_crap: demo, heavy, medic (and apparently all others) Muffalopadus: medic, scout, soldier, demo Crawdad: ? Dalton: demo, spy, scout, sniper Frostbite: pyro, spy, engie, medic Razor: ? Mrs. Crawdad: I know you love Engie, but what else would you like? Virus: ? ?Virus Jr.: pyro, sniper That puts us at a whopping 12. That means we could more than likely do the 9 vs. 9 highlander tournament. I think we should try to practice this weekend and then I'll sign us up. Then we can do another few practices before the tournament starts. On our first practice we can decide who will play which class, as the highlander rules state that "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!". When are you all available this weekend? I can make time whenever, so I'm not sure when to plan for. For now let's say Sunday evening? Does that work? I have a crazyinsane work schedule, but I could be down as an alternate if you need someone with lag issues. I am also teaching a course, so would need a little head's up. I just reloaded TF2 on my new rig. I'm a little rusty but up for a little Auld Lang Syne I'm best at medic but will play anything for laughs. Just don't ask me to organize anything. (my son is also getting into it and likes to play pyro or sniper) "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"
