If we're looking at a regiment like suggested prior, I'm probably out. Having a baby makes it very hard to commit to things. I can maybe be an alternate, though, or something. Or I'll come on to give you guys a target, since you'll have to have someone to fight against.

Count me in! I haven't played with any pDs folks in a Loooooooong ass time! I'm in Japan so the times will be awkward for me. I usually play either spy or demo man if it really matters.

Sunday evening sounds good. Crawbaby is usually in bed by 6-7 CST, so Crawdad and I are good to go after that.

Also, there are classes other than engie? I'm shocked!

But I'm also a fairly decent pyro or soldier if I'm not lagging too badly.

I'll try to get the server up and running for Sunday.
Fortunately with the Minecraft server still awaiting a mod update, that shouldn't bring down TF2 performance any.

Awesome, how about like 5 pm pst? We can just play for as long as we all want and then we can take breaks or whatever for food and such. There's enough of us that it doesn't matter if we practice in smaller groups. We just need to figure out who's playing what.

And I'm going to make the first post on this thread updated with news and such so you can all see it. Plus I made a steam group for that purpose as well. I'd suggest subscribing to this page (I think you can do that?).

Okay.. got the server online and (amazingly) it didn't need a Metamod/Sourcemod update.

I've made the following changes for our practice session:
- Password protected (will give the password closer to Sunday)
- AllTalk is on by default
- Team Balancing is disabled
- Enabled Replays

If you're currently on the roster as a player or a sub, you need to sign up here: UGC League

1. Sign in via steam (click the green button on the right of the page that I linked.

2. Click Join Team once you're signed in.

3. Select "{pDs} - Penguin Doom Squad" from the drop-down menu.

4. Enter password PenguinPower to apply for registration.

5. I will accept your requests and you will be added to the team!

PLEASE let me know if you have any problems doing this, it's a very important step towards getting us playing.

EDIT: Nevermind, I realized I could add you all manually, heheh. Hopefully I got everyone's STEAM_ID correct...

I'm too lazy to look way over there...
Can you post the official maps we'll be playing, and which weapons are banned? I want to make sure we're all familiar with that...

They have been added to the first post (everyone should check there for news and such by the way).

Oh. Cool.

Dumb question. What do we do to join the match come Monday?

A perfectly reasonable question, thanks for asking!

The way it works is that the team that is designated the "home" team gets to choose the server to play on for the first and third (if needed) rounds. The "visiting" team picks the server for the second. Since we don't have a server as of right now that can host 19 players (9 vs. 9 plus SourceTV), we would just play on the other team's server for all three rounds regardless of whether or not we are "home" or "visiting". If they don't have a server, we'll use a UGC server (hopefully) or whine to the tournament admins. An hour before the match starts, I'll confirm the match logistics with the other team's captain and then we'll hop on a server as soon as we can. We have 15 minutes after the designated time (6:30 pm pacific) to get our players readied and then we'll start the match. We can start with as few as 7 too by the way. The remaining players are then allowed to join late if need be. But of course, that wouldn't be optimal.

Huh. I'm surprised it doesn't *have* to be a UGC server. Who could tell what mods might lurk on a random server that might secretly give a little boost to the home team...
