lol- really? not sure where in Arizona you live in but something to consider if you get water from the main river.
Denver sits on that same river- and instead of a drain field they drain into the river. The same river you probably get your drinking water from.

cheers with that mental image next time you shower :) Our water comes primarily from the snow that melts up in the mountains and comes down through the river beds. Much of Phoenix' canal system is built on top of the system the Hohokam indians put in place when they were in the area. If you mean the Colorado River... I don't think we get anything from that here in Phoenix. That runs down the west edge of the state.

gotcha rik, I knew the colorado fed some of Az but wasnt sure the specifics or where you were. I do like telling that story to San Diegans as its where we draw almost all our water from and makes some people freak out.
Cantrip, I'm looking forward to updates. One thing that keeps clicking in my head when thinking about this is the septic enzyme stuff youre using. If its designed for septic systems then that means its a water native enzyme/bacteria, and that could mean the water/liquid is a needed element?

Yeah. There's a liquid version of the powder which is way concentrated. It's like one treatment every six months or so. I may try that at some point. Will go to the pet store and look at the enzyme selection there. I want something to just eat away at the poop in such a way that will make for much more dramatic pics to post here. All this talk of dog poo disposal has got me thinking (and subsequently searching google). One of the places I visited suggested using red worms to break down the waste. I wonder how they would compare to the enzyme treatment? If they work well it could become a source of income by selling the poo eating worms to fisherman for bait.

I swear I was gonna go today to the local marine supply store today to get fishing worms - mostly to see if they would survive and provide pretty pictures for these here forums. I really would have taken any worms they have, but since you did the research, I will ask for red worms. Will do that tomorrow. And of course, post pics. Worms will go into the bucket. If they can escape out of the small holes, they will live a shit-free life. Otherwise, they will be worm food for the next species of worms to be tossed in after that. A few observations: 1. My husband is a weirdo. This should not be news. 2. Those waste systems do not work in dirt with a high clay content (so don't even think about it, Crawdad). 3. Many municipalities actually ask that you flush dog waste in the toilet. Might save you some trouble.
