weaponstay 1 u cant pick ammo up from guns only ammo boxes
weaponstay 0 you can pick ammo up from wepaons

i came across this on the CTF forums.  too many levels have guns but not enought ammo and it would be nice if you can get amm from picking up the gun again.

Done. This is how I originally but people complained that the weapon respawn times were slow and that it sucked and blah blah blah.

It's off now.

The spawns are a lot faster than other servers, though.  People say they are too slow?

I could fill a thread with all the guest complaints.  Some pDs members love the maps, but that's because that is what we always had before CTF.  A lot of the visitors don't like them too much though.  Rockthevote is now a key bind for many.  The overtime bug really gets to people also, and switching to spec and back doesn't fix it.

I love those DM maps, but I think personally they need to be scrapped to votable.

thanks whut, if the respawn times are too slow for people, its easy enough to go back into the map file and add another spawn point.

rockthevote issues are serious! at least 50 percent of the time voting fails, the source tv bot counts as a person so if you are on by yourself and you want to pull up a more popular map it takes 3 votes when there is only one person playing. I'm sure nobody wants to hear about this shit but there has to be a better way.

if i remember right, it takes either 50% or 66% vote to will a mapvote.  so if you are the only one on the server (that means you and source tv), it can't possible take 3 votes to win because there aren't 3 people on the server.  grumpy or whut would know what percent of people need to participate for a map vote to go through.

on the other hand, i like most of the maps in the mapcycle, so if somebody starts a mapvote, i tend not to vote on purpose just so it won't go through.  that way i get to play the next map in the mapcycle.  i know i'm not the only one who does this.

I take it that you are talking about DOM style maps? I am at work and cant look at the current map cycle but I cannot think of any DOM maps that are currently in the rotation? The only dom map that I have done anything with recently is glassworks and I know that one is vote only.

As far as the voting goes I did cut the minimum votes from 4 to 2 sometime ago but I bet the sourceTV is fouling up the percentages. If I remember right it takes 60% of the population to win a vote. It would take at least 2 out of 2 to vote for the same map to win which I dont think is a bad thing. I will recheck this when i get home tonight.

Doh, sorry.  I actually posted that in the wrong thread.  I meant to put it in the one about the lego map, and how it should be more unique maps like that rather than the TFC DM maps we ported over, because people tend to complain a lot about the maps we have like stone fort and 2fort (TFC).

Sorry if I confused you

I thought something was weird in regards to not getting any ammo when guns were picked up...awesome...I totally agree about the lack of ammo.

People can shut their fucking pieholes then - I love the old Tomb maps! Although many of them aren't as good without the boosted xbow unfortunately. I think the real issue is that they are designed for more people than we often have. Stone fort sucks for anything smaller than 5 v 5, so if your only experience with it is after an intense 3 v 3 pedestal battle you are going to bitch and moan about it. 10 v 10 Stone Fort is a good time if the teams are balanced. 2fort I can see people complain about if they are sick of it - anyone who has ever played TFC knows it is overplayed - it's still a pretty fun map though, I definitely enjoy it more than 2fort_lite.

I was just thinking about the wdf map (the one with the RPG in the middle) - anyone working on porting it? I think it would be a kick ass dom map!
