I want a great gaming/muti task notebook. I can get an Alienware if I convince the wife. I don't know if I want a Dell or not. Does anyone have any suggestions for notebooks or any experiences with Dell or Alienware notebooks? I have experience with Dell, and I like them. But if you are really looking into it then you may want to consider building your own, Cheaper and the specs are much nicer.

I had an HP that sucked balls! My Dell kicks ass and can handle pretty much anything. Dick Cheney's Mechanical Heart wrote:I wish I had some vicodin, it's been a long time. I remember the first time I took some vicodin for fun, it was like my whole body was a dick and god was blowing me.

One standing flaw with alienware computers is that damn light up alien head on their notebooks... gogo battery.
Dell is ok, though I've never liked their notebooks for games.
My current notebook is a Sager notebook which I recommend. Sirus also has a Sager.

we're a Dell family here... all the comps we've ever owned have been Dell, and for the most they've done us proud. The father is on his second Dell laptop now, however things aren't going so smoothly, but it is a couple years old now at least i think. Something failed in it, which meant it can no longer receive wireless (he's not sure if its the card or something else, but he's been a bit too busy to do anything about it, and never elaborated for me upon qwuestioning)... and it's shit for games i think, but i always prefer playing them on desktop anyway. yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

Don't go with Alienware, about a third of the price you pay will be going towards brand name and they also have a habit of buying reviews. [01:34] whutdufk: I love you Spaniard Lead Salad wrote:I love you Spaniard FinalGamer wrote:I love you Spaniard <3

Anything you buy from Alienware is going to be 3x the price you'll pay somewhere else, or making your own. And if you have no experience making your own laptop, you can get one custom made or whatever with the same shit from Dell When it comes to gaming lappy's, Dell's the way to go. If, however, you seem to have a bigger wallet, as indicated when you mentioned Dell, I reccomend the MacBook Pro (17" FTW). The processors are Core 2 Duos over 2 GHz of course, and you can upgrade ram for fairly cheap. I know you're a CS guy, so you can install windows on a second partition and use BootCamp to load up windows flawlessly anytime you want. Seriously, idiots go for Alienware. End of story. silverwasp wrote:Be careful what you wish for... I have 10 younger siblings and I am only 20....

No shit, lucky bastard! ahhhh.....2 great compnents...new vid card and sweet processor...u're good to go! have fun *grumble*
*** I prefer dell, since i've had past experience with them. I thought their services are not bad. My mobo blew out and I called the support line and they pretty much narrowed down my problem and next day there was a tech rep at my door to replace the entire mobo within an hour. I was pleased!
Alienware....looks good, pricy though....I've heard good things about, but that's the closet i've been to one. {pDs} *LoneOfficier*"...crossbow+lone....unseparable....!"-LoneOfficier

Notebooks aren't really the best for gaming.. the compactness is cool but I've never met anyone who professes mobility as a plus for gaming. If you want compactness, go with the shuttle XPC. I'm buying one after christmas, they're dope.

yea, macs are not good for gaming, they only have one model that is and its a desktop. The core 2 duo doesn't necessarily mean it is good with games, and when was the last time you saw a even semi decent video card that was about a CM thick? Also, if you are going for a gaming in a laptop then you can worry about size.
The dell Inspiron is a nice laptop, a friend of mine has one with a 17" screen and it runs well on CSS.
