American trucks suck..... the build quiality, ride, performance are all horrendous. The Nissan is waaay better value for what you get.

Learn how to drive in the snow and ice or find other means of travel, problem solved.  Sometimes I just can't wait until I get stationed overseas.

Okay azn fanboi.  "Horrendous" is a little extreme.  The bread and butter 5.7L hemi in the Dodge trucks are rated at something like 345hp, while the Nissan's 5.6L is rated at less impressive 317hp.  Add to mix that the Dodge 5.7L hemi is a pushrod design, as opposed to a cammer like the Nissan, and you have more torque at a lower RPM where trucks need it most.  Same thing with the Chevy 5.3L V8.  315hp and a moderately torque-y pushrod.  I think with comparably equipped options, the Dodge would outperform the Nissan and be cheaper.  I have driven the new Ford F-150 pickups.  The ride quality is superb.  The steering is tight and the handling is great.  The Ford 5.4L V8 is rated at "only" 300hp, but that is close to the slightly larger Nissan V8.  Horrendous is what I would use to describe the looks of Nissan.  Definitely "love it" or "hate it" styling.

pwnt!

but to be honest I have a 1985 Nissan King Cab pick-up with almost 300k miles and it still passes emissions and runs great (liek 32 mpg ). So Nissan is ok by me.
You wanna take this to Fuck Town?

unless you get a lemon (which happens from time to time), any car/truck will last a long time as long as you take care of it.  it will only treat you as good as you treat it.

You can boast all the horsepower figures you want.  And you are correct saying that torque is what matters.

HEMI - 375 lbs TOURQUE --- Towing Capacity = 8,950 lbs

TITAN - 385 lbs TORQUE -- Towing Capacity = 9,500 lbs

I have yet to have a Dodge Hemi beat me in a heads up street race (and yes I have raced more than one - my brother owns one)  I will never buy an American truck again - they are made cheap and sold expensive for what they are worth.  Just my opinion though..

well if they are that bad why is it that the top selling trucks are Ford and Chevy.  Just throwing that out there.  Obviously if the japanese trucks were that much better, people would buy those instead of an american truck.

I'm not saying they are bad, just with my experience (I have owned both Japanese and American) foreign made cars/trucks are more reliable.    I have always had way less problems with my Japanese vehicles.  Like I said before just my opinion.  Everyone likes different things for different reasons.  I just like to spend my money on something that will in the end last a lot longer.  My last Toyota truck had 230 + K miles and only the wear and tear parts had been replaced i.e. starter, brake pads, tires, thermostat etc...

your forgetting the patriotism element.... American built is better, all that jazz.... just like unclejemima there ... it skews the market nearly always. In fact if you look at the likes of Ireland, where there is no patriotism element you will find that the Japanese top the board, although Ford have regained ground in recent years...

also, any vehicle will last as long as you want it too, but certain one's require that more income be spent on them. Survey's show that some brands are better than others... and traditionally the japanese brands score higher than American. maybe that's changing but i've yet to see it. That's why i'd still say that a Japanese is a better value buy,  you're buying a higher element of certainty (but then again you can never buy absolute certainty)
yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

lol, that pretty much blew the wind out of Jemima's knocking of the Nissan's power out the window.

I disagree with the reviewer though that the dodge looks better...its only half decent design feature is the imposing grill, the rest of it looks a little dated too me. i actually think when you take the lines of the whole of the vehicle that the Nissan looks the best, more solid and flush. And even with the doges grill, the Nissan still looks the most aggressive... the dodge's grill has a sort of upward curve to it, which to me suggests a gaping open mouthed look... the nissan has a downward curve, the grill is below the top of the headlights... all in all it looks a bit meaner... the doge's grill may look a bit beefier, but only in the way a fat man looks compared to an athlete (all subjective opinion of course)

all in all you've got a nice truck there KYFHO, hope you can get her back up and running as she should be soon.
