No, he punished him by sending away from heaven, aka eternal happiness w/ God, to Hell, aka eternal torture and missery. And he cant roam free, hes confined to Hell :P lol. Heat Repeat!!!

Him, and a handfull of his followers tryed to oust god out of heaven, as Lucifer thought he was the most perfect of (well anything really) and as such, god MADE his prison, In hebrew it translates as such"...The place of Gnashing Teeth" basicly meaning, Endless excruicating pain.
The devil believes he can wrests the host of souls into his domain, but yet. His flaw has consumed him and as such he thinks himself unbeatable NIGH omnipotent, as such he' lies to himself, he is ignorent to the plan of god.
