Hello
This is Trigot. When me and my wife (Ms Frags) found this comunity we where looking for a place to play all the time at we met alot of great people here.
But I noticed that i have been having less and less fun especialy on tempest 1. I asked myself why. I came up with the fact that evey single night there is 5-7 of the top 10 on the server on the blue team steamrolling the red team. after getting rolled for a few matches and hoping some poeple would even out the teams it never happened and i left out of frustration. This happened 5-6 days in a row. I tried being on blue a few times and hated steamrolling red every game wasnt any fun either and felt bad for the red teams frustration because i knew how they felt..I guess hlstats and winning is more important then sportsmanship and fair play and even giving yourselves a challenge which is what games are for.
I hope things pick up again for you guys but i fear it may not if this trend keeps on the way it has been. When i started here there as always a wait on temp 1 now days people are begging for more to join just to get a game going.....you may want to rethink you strategies before you end up with just PDS on your servers
I am just going to cut theis short and let you know I had a great time while here but am going to go find a comunity more suited for me. I may still swing into Temp 2 sometimes.
Best regards, Trigot

I agree with Triguns sentiments. It seems that many of the people who play daily know who the 'good players' are and usually wait to get on the same team as them. I wont name any names but you know who you are. =) The make-up is very similiar each time. I usually am one of the first people to load in and I always like to watch everyone picking a team before I join just so I can see how the team assignments work out and the results always amaze me. For example if some of the better players are on one team the people will wait until a slot is open on the better teams side to join. I understand that many people just click whatever door is available at the time without thought but it appears much to cooincidental for this to occur day after day. This could potentially scare people away fromt the Tempest Servers if this continues to happen. Edit: Personally I dont have a problem with being placed on a gimp team but I can understand how it could upset some casuals just looking to have some fun. So its something we should all be mindful of to prevent people from abandoning the Tempest Servers. I'm the leetest one here

This is a valid point, and I've seen this over and over again. I'm mostly one of these people who will join a team with familiar names, and we usually end up winning. Yet I have memories of being steamrolled repeatedly on Granary, so I know it can be frustrating to lose 5 times in a roll.
But also I think 'top players' win because there's just more communication and 'focus'. I mean a lot of casual gamers stop by, and just want to step in for a few minutes on our servers. That's fine. But I usually have more fun with regulars, and maybe that leads to 'stacking'. I don't know, I just wanted to bring another viewpoint to this discussion.

I realize we've had this problem before, we had talks of trying to find a way to mix up the players to stop making games a 1 sided fight. We always strive to try to get everyone to have fun but problems always lurk around. Right now it may be hard cause of the holidays and most people are away, untill next year comes it may pick up again with more people showing up. Ill also have a talk with other {pDs} server admins about this problems to try and iron them out. We hope you can still come and enjoy our servers as you first did. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

Ahh i feel ya man. i was playing w/ your wife and heard her fustration on warpath and stuff. But stay with playing here man, i for one always try to help out the team that looks as if they are going to get rolled. (not like i make much of a difference anyway)
I mean , on warpath we managed to win in sudden death, Its fun to kill the "top players" 146:30 or so :D
oh temp 1 > temp2 ..

The team with the regular/good players don't exactly ALWAYS win... sure they might have a better chance of winning.... but when each side is about the same skill..... one or 2 players does not make a difference.... we had a long game on warpath.... we were about to win it.....but then we got pushed and we ended up losing it....

yeah but we arent talking about 1-2 people in particular.. besides when one team has all the 'regulars' and the other has more random people its still a stack in the sense that one side is purely defense and cant even push. (ex: no communication, medics that dont uber, 5 snipers, etc)
And on warpath our team (red) didnt even talk, we had like 3 medics ubering random people with no real effort to push. just a bunch of demos holding our last cap (which we eventually lost). We only won one by sudden death b/c we ended up getting like 2 ppl that did communicate (evil deedz and others)
meh its 1 am, i dont even know if im makin sense

Yeah it was pretty fun today, but instead of random people i think i just ubered you like 99 percent of the time lol. But more on this subject i do agree that one team is normally stacked and i always hit random before i join a game and i usually end up on the non-stacked team so i feel your pain. But some people will only play with friends and that wont stop unless there is some way to stop it, I have noticed first hand and have called a few people out on it in temp #2 that in the first few minutes of a match i see people switching teams that seem to have the upper edge...however there is nothing i can really do about it. But on the other hand i think the tempest servers are just suffering over the last week or so because of the holidays. Not to say that the stacking is not an issue.

We are in the process of setting class limits on certain maps to stop everyone hanging back. ahhhh_crap wrote:no, splinter has ethics and whut has emotions

After reading the first couple of poste in this thread I played about 2-3 houres on t#1 last night. I joined red under a different name to see how it was and I must say it sucked. First map was grainery and blue won 5-0 then we played well and they won 3-0. The only reason it was not worse is because I started to ask people to switch and there were a couple of guys who were nice enough to do so. There was also some jackass who kept saying NO. I would have kicked his sorry ass off except I was too busy defending the last point to keep it 3-0. Then we played warpath and this time it ended 1-1. I think red did better on warpath because a bunch of pDs guys joined and saw red was getting pummeled and went red to even it out.
Skill stacking is a problem. I understand that its more fun to play with people youu know. However it is not fun to constantly roll another team without much of a fight. kinda like beating up a little kid if you ask me. I think this falls under the don't be a dick rule and we should start kicking people who won't switch until we have a better solution.
I think class limits suck as well. {pDs}BelligerentPimp wrote: No using the word "fucktard" unless you are refering to TonyRWC or Youngripark.j2. WDF? wrote:go fuck yourself hanukkah style.
