I just wanted everyone here to know that I just got accepted to work for "Southern Air" out here in the Mojave Airport. I'll be working and cataloging parts for 747's out there and will be getting paid quite a bit to do it too, you can't imagine how happy I was when I got the call from their general manager that I had gotten the job for them. I've been job hunting for the past couple months now since I've been out of the military, I had to be really picky as to what job I was looking for and which ones I was applying because not many companies out there now even want to hire a person that was prior military, especially one from the war on terror. Anyways, I start some time next week at $20 an hour for starts plus full benefits to go along with it, thats almost double what I was making in the service so you can imagine just how much I was really making while I was in there. Anyways, I just thought all of you should know, I know Whutters wanted to know when I got a job because he has supported me every step of the way. I almost consider you guys my digital family, because I don't see you guys every day but have just as many problems as the family I have here, go figure. So there it is, I'll keep you guys up to date on what happens and what they will be having me do from a day to day basis. One more thing, thanks to the support, all of you.

Jeeze. Used to be companies wanted to hire vets out of a sense of duty, patriotism and gratitude. Where the hell are we headed? Congrats and welcome back to the country you swore to give your life for. You should be more like Cantrip. Twitchy: "I pulled a Cantrip . . ." Well I started today and let me tell ya, this job is freaking awesome. They let me work on aircraft all day, take as many breaks in the day I want/need, have a cool ass boss that doesn't care about how many hours you clock in just so long as you do the job and get there on time, and did I mention I get paid over $30 an hour to do it!!!! Looks like I'm getting my new engine for my 78 Firebird a bit sooner than I thought. LoL

Wolf, I envy you. Honestly. For years I've been looking at pics, reading blogs, etc, of stuff going on in the Mojave boneyard. Even took pics as I drove by this last May after graduation (TX->CA). I love pics of the planes, rare, not so rare, experimental, etc. So what exactly are the details of your company? Also, pics of the clan's name/members names sprayed on the side of a 747 would be total win. get your ass to mars

Jeeze. Used to be companies wanted to hire vets out of a sense of duty, patriotism and gratitude. Where the hell are we headed? Congrats and welcome back to the country you swore to give your life for. All public colleges, along with city and state government agencies have affirmative action for vets and give them a huge preference when they apply to jobs to the point where even if someone is more qualified than the vet they will get bumped for a vet. There are a few big corporations that do to, but as I recall most of them have disproportionately low rates of hiring veterans, probably because they are greedy as fuck and figure a vet is going to cost them more in insurance costs and shit. Same with college applications, being a vet can give you a big boost when applying, at least to public colleges. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.
